Do you see a hammer price for the other red CS at the Russo Steele auction? The one with the stripe: https://russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/?show_vehicle=161142¤t_index=3&total_results=13&auction_pk=182&=&caryear=0&caryearto=0&search_text=Challenge%20stradale&page=featured&showpage=1 Thanks.
The Russo and Steele Catalog confirms that you did indeed get the two cars correct and their VIN's Monterey 2016 Auction Catalog
the one two nights ago didn't sell either. I suspect that will be a trend for a lot of the cars this week...
Mine is available for what many would consider "not crazy money" (certainly well below the $250-300k range you mention). PM if interested. RS with factory stripe (the R&S auction car's stripe is after market fwiw, Stokpro and I do not believe there is another red car for sale in USA right now with the factory stripe). I've had it over 5 years. Three other owners (I know who all of them are). 19,150 miles. 30+ pages of Ferrari Authorized Dealer service records going back a decade. All books/tools/leather pouches/codes/keys/fobs, etc. Its got loads of recent maint done and thus is going to save the buyer a bunch in coming years (fresh major, new clutch/TO bearing/Fly wheel, new front bushings, new battery, new tires, etc). So, "yeah" its got a whopping 19k miles (over 12 years, its around 1600 per year, just enough to keep it going properly imho), but its got zero mile clutch/tires/belts/fluids/bushings/battery etc.
Seems like a very reasonable deal given todays prices. Lack of stripe no doubt is hurting it sell/helping someone buy it a little cheaper.
That seemed to be the theme at the auctions this year...pass, pass, pass, pass. I guess the bubble has hit its threshold...
Yeah, for pretty much all of the high run up cars (not just ferrari's, but P-cars etc). I actually think the "peak" was 6+ months ago. And even then, there were few actual end user sales for most of the cars that ran up. (interestingly Marcel said exactly that in his comments in the auction there here). So many cars are not selling at all with sellers at high asking and no real buyers anywhere (only dealer trading). Of course that makes sense, transactions only happen with markets are at equilibrium.
Prices have stalled for sure in short term.. Chance for people to jump on board, CS prices will have another leg up $$ in the years to come
Anyone know details on this car: - clean car fax or any accident history? - mileage? - factory or after market stripe?
Please PM if anyone knows of a clean factory stripe car at a fair price. Pref red but open to other colors. Under 20k miles.
Don't you need to specify "no leather" so folks don't point you to a car that meets your specs but doesn't?
I believe it was one owner 9K mile car. I thought it was a good buy and at that time as the stock market was down. I think your car is appropriately priced based on the market IMHO. Factory stripe cars are not easy to find and no one is going to price it below market.
Yeah, most cars sold for 75% of the low end of the published estimate, or not at all. Looks like prices will continue to come down for a while. Interesting article on this year's Monterey auctions: https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/Articles/2016/08/22/Monterey-Auction-Week-Totals
To the top! Any update on the CS market? We had ours out for a short 30 mile ride the other day, what a car! Erik
Indeed it is! Getting ready to show mine at the annual Charlotte Ferrari show on the 27th. It should make the market jump when the public gets to witness such Awesomeness! Image Unavailable, Please Login
