The car is looking good.....that lady, not so much.... Reality Check: The original wreck, while nasty looking, was minor compared to ....the Monaco crash with the Russian TV girl, The car rolled in the USA and smashed to bits, which was reassembled as a Salt Flats record breaking machine. You get these nicks and scrapes if you use the car, IMO.... Man, she's homely....no wonder he left town....17,000K a month, huh??
Is this the same as the forum member "icemanbops" ? Would make sense - Michael Boparan aka Alexander Surin
The car will have a clear title in the UK as the insurance claim was not made there, but the power of the internet will no doubt alert any sensible buyers to do their due diligence regarding its past. If its been correctly repaired then not really a major issue if bid sensibly. Not sure I would want to be driving around in that though given its later back story.
You would need a careful inspection, to find anything there before someone else did.. Still one could imagine the authorities have already been carefully over it, given "the facts". They found $200K cash, in another car from the seizure?
This portion does, but then it reads like Bonhams is suggesting washing the title, which whether allowable or not doesn't seem like the right thing to do. "The 'manufactured in 2003' and car being 'rebuilt-assembled from parts some or all of which were not new' notes in this latest V5C would certainly seem to have been incorrectly declared by a previous owner however and would benefit from being amended for a new registered keeper by the DVLA, who will need to be satisfied by the receipt of written confirmation by Ferrari of the slightly later date of manufacture and that original components are fitted to the vehicle." >8^) ER
The UK registration agency DVLA are rather hit and miss about such things, it all depends who is behind the desk on the day, it could well be that they spotted the US salvage title element when imported and applied that wording, which they normally actually use for home built kit cars, not an issue for such cars but a major black mark against this one if it stays in the UK, if it heads abroad that element may well be lost on its next registration document depending on the country it ends up in.
Being sold at RM now, estimate 1.2M £sterling. Will be interesting to see. would be quite a flip, £300k in 12 months
