i spent 2.5 years restoring this car, and in the interim, my taste became slightly more hooligan, and i've disappeared down the rabbit hole of group b cars :)

I bought the car about 3 years ago. Someone had spent money on it mechanically-brakes were good, front suspension also good, plus engine has been ported and polished which added a little extra something.

Body wise, there was very little rust but I wanted to go back to original color and when we got down to bare metal we discovered all sorts of horrors-not much rust, but lots of bad repairs! whatever rust and bondo we found were cut out and new sheet metal welded in, then the car painted in original color

a new clutch was installed, when we checked the engine there were a couple of things I didn't like, so I had the engine and carbs rebuilt, gearbox wasn't leaking and was working well so we left that alone, trunk was totally redone, top is new, all new hoses and clamps for fuel, cooling, and brakes, brake master cylinder installed, new stainless exhaust installed, fuel tank taken out, repaired and cleaned, radiator sent out and re-cored, undercarriage was gone through -repaired as required.

I redid the entire interior back to black factory vinyl. I rechromed all the bits that needed rechroming-bumpers, hinges, etc, and finally, I removed the 12,000 Ferrari badges that were all over the car :)

In conclusion, I repaired or replaced everything that needed to be repaired or replaced-I wanted the car to be as it was when it left the factory-the only two non original parts are the radio-there was a modern one that I replaced with a period appropriate Becker that's wired for iPod, and the dinoplex-the box is there but inside it's a modern msd ignition unit

the car runs and drives perfectly, needs nothing (except a new owner)

Absolutely stunning. Probably the best Fiat sports car ever made. I find nothing odd with the Pinin' shape at all, it's elegant and bold.

    Great project, GLWS.

Is that another Fiat Dino Spider (red) in background?
Name of shop please? (maybe I missed it?)

I have a 2.0 w/c was originally "French Blue", now the obligatory Red from previous owner, love that "ice blue" look of yours......didn't another f-chatter complete his 2.4 in similar colors recently?

    Thank you,
    Jack
