Could this pass as an original heater valve - 110066 ? Would fit 308's - 512 - 400GT. It's a Ranco and sure looks like the original. It would be great if anyone can confirm.

I found a few of these for sale for $36 a piece. About 1/10 the price of ordinary retail price.

Original or not if it does the job at this price I'd be very happy. If there is a difference I can't tell without the OEM one beside. But I'm not an expert.

    Thanks Claude,

This is a picture of an original 110066 as offered by many retailers for about $300-600 - it looks to be the same.

I have bought a pair as the old one has failed completely. I will know compatibility when they arrive :)

Great find Otto :) That is also about 1/10 cost of original part for 400i.

Unfortunately these are not compatible with the above valve for 400GT which uses the same as 208/288GTO/308 and 512.

The valve in picture will not fit easily; it clearly is flange mounted like it mounts directly to the head or a bulkhead on the Fiat. The 400i clearly has hoses in and out. Mine were stiff to adjust and a little light lubricant freed them up and are working.

I will post pics of his install - Michel is a fabricator, amongst many of his talents. I bought a couple of these at his bequest after he sourced them and believe they're going in this weekend. Mine were too shot and were original 1985...

By chance I stumbled over our heater valves - 110066 - readily available online for very fair prices. No reason to pay $300-$600 + shipping for a part that can be had for less than $100 - and some places as low as $40 depending where you shop. It's originally a valve produced by Ranco with part nr. H28-104 and I long suspected it being used on other 70's cars. Isn't Ranco originally a US company ? It might be in use on US produced cars ?

Nevertheless,if you google Opel 1820106 you should get a picture of a valve exactly like the Ferrari 110066. It is an aftermarket part but still looks solid and still made of brass just like the original. The dimensions looks to be the same.

    Happy shopping,
    Arvid
