When I had my gallbladder removed it was done thru a tiny incision in my navel and three holes in the chest cavity . It took less than two hours, according to my wife. I was up and about, going home the same afternoon. Unless his gallbladder was ruptured he should be about and well within a couple of days maximum. The days of cutting the patient open for that surgery are long gone. I hope, for your benefit, that he does well with the surgery.
He will feel a whole lot better once it's over with. And, he will be able to concentrate on his work instead of abdominal pain.

Shop owner just called. Motor has been run twice on dyno. No leaks. Motor will be installed this coming week and car will be running again. That is the current plan.

He's demonstrated that he does have quite a bit of patience, irked at times but at least he has plenty of other automotive distractions :D

Motor in. The jets are too rich now that the motor is correct. I need 126. Easy problem. BUT the advance springs in the distributor are mismatched. Big problem. I will need a shop that can do the correction. They have not driven the car. I ask if I could get it back a week from now. No sure answer. But at least the car is back together.

Was it run on a dyno or a run stand?

The motor was run on a Dyno. For oil leaks. With the two distributors doing different advances I think that needs to be addressed before I get the car back. The difference is great. One double the other. Shop said I would not be able to tell the difference but I have gone this far, and so I feel this needs to be corrected. Opinions, please

Before and after should be significantly different when timing is that far off. Notice or not, too much timing on one bank wouldn't do your engine any favours.

I asked because I was curious what the output was.

There has to be some mechanical reason for this discrepancy. The distributors have to be installed on a different drive gear tooth causing you to turn the distributor to make up the difference. It should be easy to find out of the car. In the car, good luck!
It all goes back to the engine assembly work. I guess that explains it doesn't it.
Fix it now, no reason to leave bandages on bubblegum repairs. Another of the many issues with the quality of work you got stiffed with.

It seems Brett finally went quiet when you had the engine opened and found all the major discrepancies from his original work invoice. Curious.... What an epic misery. Wish you all the best.

Mitchell, following your various troubles I can only surmise you are either the unluckiest Ferrari owner on earth or you have not been doing a good job of choosing contractors. I have been in this business a long time and have been witness to many nightmare scenarios but never one person with so many. No question there are many bad shops and dishonest or unqualified people but there are many that are honest and very skilled. You need to do something different in your selection process.

I am not petitioning for your business, far from it but I will be happy to privately help you select someone who can meet your needs.
