The Speciale Aperta will be a keeper for sure. It is the last special edition mid engine V8 equipped with a normally aspirated V8's. It is a very special car and will continue to be so due it's normally aspirated engine and relatively low production numbers. I guess in the short run value could eventually decrease when 488 Spider's become more plentiful but in the long run it would be the car to have especially if you are a fan of open air cars.

What a beautiful spec on this car. Gorgeous. For sure its collectibility will be secure, for all the reasons stated.

The only problem I see with that car is that it's not mine....;)

Nice looking car, but to me the 'hard core' version of a model (for any brand) is more desirable as a coupe.

Unsure of the market value in the UAE but here in the US there are none available for sale that I am aware of at the moment.

Al-Ain Class Motor sold the brand new identical spec for 1.6 Million AED ($435K) in august last year. I know this because my dad's company insured that car. I think this should cost around 1.5 Million AED because this one is used.

I was offered 575 GBP by a well known indie dealer for my RHD Speciale Aperta. That's an eye watering 112% increase over list. Presumably his customer (who wanted a RHD in TDF blue) was going to pay well into the 6s. I wasn't selling her but clearly some people have defined it a very special car indeed.

$435,000?? Where do I send my money? In the US I saw two listed for $599k under 1,000 miles and they sold very quickly.

I would suggest you look at the values of the 16M.. which at one point, people said all the same things they are saying now about the the SpecA. It was a limited edition (499 cars) and was projected to be a collector car that would command huge $$$ for years to come.

Yo can buy one today for ~$250K. I predict you will be able to buy a SpecA for ~$300K in 4-5 years. It may be worth bunches of money 30+ years from now but it's just another car in 2-3 years.

I totaly agree with you. I had an early Speciale Coupe and changed it for one of the last, i coild have got an Aperta but chose not to. If you have driven the Speciale Coupe a lot then when you get into an Aperta the seating position feels notably different. I believe the seats are closer to the windscreen to allow for the roof mechanism, and one can deffinatley notice this.

Great info. The ask on this car is a lot higher (US $626K) and a similar coupe is about half this price. Gorgeous car, but not sure it's worth such a large premium.

As far as I know, the Speciale is not an LE. The SA is and is therefore more desirable to collectors looking for value over time compared to a non LE car. However, I am not an open top guy and would choose the coupe nearly every time.

True! Absence of Naturally Aspirated V8 is the main culprit of this kind of price. Yes, it is a special car, but you still can have fun in the coupe. And US $626K is too much. My dad's company insured a brand new Aventador SV last week which costs $610K.

Anyone know approximate production number for the SA?
    Is it less than 500?

Probably not a single base model out there if I had to guess by the pics everyone's posting..Most are north of $375 with options... I did a bunch of options and sticker was $453
