I guess there will never be an end to this type of thread. Let's say the 458s lose 12-15k and drop to 180s (low miles) in summer, some people won't be satisfied then and ask how come they aren't 160s, cz "they should be that price." Then let's say there is a recession and it hits 160s, some people will say "these 458s are overpriced, we are in a recession they should be 140k max." It will never end. Maybe if they are giving them away for free we will reach an end to this. Haha.

Only in the states they are holding value ...In Europe the 458 are way cheaper.
Maybe the trend will reach us in the near future .

its inevitable. whats funny about the 458 debates is the spread is tiny, often under 10 percent, ie 210 vs 190 or 275k vs 250k

Usually, prices start dropping at a nice clip on the replaced models several months before the new ones start shipping. That hasn't happened here.....I wonder if the general bubble mania that is in place for a WIDE variety of 10-20 year old cars has dealers thinking anything exotic is in the bubble.

Less than 2 years ago, I bought a 9k mile great color 1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster for $120k. Now the cheapest one available is a 30k mile off color car with a $240k ask!

Super rare car for sure (142 worldwide) one year design.....but still.

EVERY forum has similar value discussions.....its natural as the cars age and a less wealthy group of buyers pop up that have to be value conscious about a purchase of this size.

It takes me years to save up for $100k+ cars.

Yea im waiting for this bubble to drop and prices to come down like they are in the rest of the world. I'm licking my chops waiting to trade in my italia for a $250k speciale and my 430 spider for a $220k 16m. Haha maybe even pickup a $50k tr like some unrealistic poster was predicting a while back. In the meanwhile I'll just enjoy driving my depreciating assets.

I agree. The spread is minimal. I think driving the car for only 6 months regularly will lead to similar depreciation.

It could very well happen. There was a time (like 2012) where you could buy Challenge Stradales for $135k and Scuderias for $170k all day long.
