I've heard the 430 wheels (on the front) get ding'd up very badly on the 430 and need repair often... Robb
look at that, maybe the only 2 355's in existence with 430 rims.. looks really good against the yellow
There is a silver spider on this site as well. I dont think either of the 3 has every taken a wheel off to show us the how its done lol
Thanks for the kind words. The car is Azzurro Hyperion. The top is black, although some blue cars did come with blue tops. The wheels are f430. Fronts are running 225/35/19's. The rear wheels are actually modified front wheels and are wider than the stock 430 rear wheels. They were widened by a fellow that builds wheels for Bonneville Salt Flat Racers. Very well done. The backs are shaved very slightly. I don't remember how much & I don't recall the exact width of the wheels. I am running 295/30/19's on the rear. I don't know the weight difference between stock 355 and 430 wheels offhand, but I know that information can be found on this Forum. The combination fits very nicely and I've had no issues with the wheels or the tires in the 2 years they have been on the car. I looked at seemingly every wheel made, but kept coming back to the 430 wheels as my favorite. I visualized what I wanted and Joe at Concourse Automotive in La Habra CA made it happen. hi, thanks for the details.. so the rear rims on your car.. are actually front rims but modified to be wider..? im not sure why the need to go through that.. where the whole inner circumference of the rim would have to be cut and weld an extension.. or maybe your guy made it into a 2 piece rims..? when simply the hub of an actual rear rim can be shaved for the proper offset to fit the 355 properly.. and even at that people are sceptical about shaving the hub for safety reasons..
Great info. I'm curious if the yellow and silver did it this way, or just shaved rear hubs. I'm going from Memory here, but the 355 rears are 71mm and 430 are like 30mm, that means to exactly match wheel placement, you need to shave a little over 40mm off the back of the hub on the wheel... that's 1.6" ...impossible. The only redemptive factor is how the factory counter sunk the wheels like a Winnebago, many people run 15mm spacers to bring they wheels closer to the fender. Looking at mine with 15mm spacers, the wheels are still recessed about 10mm. Soo just a rough brainstorm here: stock 355 need almost 25mm to bring the wheels even with the fender, 70mm offset minus ~25mm recessed = 45mm The difference between 45mm and the 430s 30mm is actually only 15mm. The question is, can 15mm be taken off safely?
Answer to first question is yes. The wheels were built by a professional wheel builder. Info on my previous post gave contact info for anyone serious about getting some done. Shaving rear 430 wheels for proper fitment on 355 is unsafe IMHO.
Can't beat that color! Have admired your car on here for a while now. Thanks for the many great pics.

Referring to the link, ive done that to several other cars ive owned. However, my paint on the 355 was excellent minus a few minor areas with light swirls. I used the word 'mild' since i did not need to wetsand, nor did I do any level of cutting compounds. I buffed it with finishing polish and the used a superfine pad to apply Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Sealer as a wax.
Ken, Is your car lowered or running spacers? I like the stance but can't tell if it is my eyes playing tricks on me.
