Wonder if she learned anything.
Much. And SS will be out long before this thread ends. The problem here is the conjectures by those that have no real knowledge of the happenings. Simply guesses, simply wrong.
That she has to check the "Have you been convicted of a felony" box on just about any formal document from now on.
Conjectures? How about facts: guilty, prison. Real knowledge? How about facts: guilty, prison. Simply guesses, simply wrong? How about facts: guilty, prison. While I am ready to stipulate that you have ALL the knowledge about this case, and may be the ONLY person who knows ALL the truth, and it's your right not to tell all you know on a public forum...how about facts: guilty, prison. Your loyalty is admirable.
what happened to this post? Hmm. . . Are you saying you've cheated on YOUR taxes? And that every one of us has cheated on our taxes? That's painting with a pretty broad brush. I've stayed out of this for a while, but can someone, anyone, tell me what facts we're misinterpreting?? They're in jail. They didn't get there by being Boy Scouts. I have a friend right now who is in deep **** because of bad decisions he made in his business. They transcend civil action, and he's looking at the real possibility of a fraud conviction and maybe a little jail time (beyond the few hours he spent there when he was arrested.) I don't know all the facts, but if he did what they've accused him of, well, to say that I'm disappointed is a gross understatement. Yes, he's a good guy, and yes, if as accused he's guilty, he did something very stupid and it's going to cost him. Will I cross him off my friend list? Nope. Will I defend his actions? Nope. They're not mutually exclusive. If the story ends up here, and it might, will I defend what he did, tell folks they don't know the real story and try ti mitigate what happened? Nope. Did I give him the phone number of a really good criminal defense attorney? Yup. I understand the folks here who think they know the players and that they're getting a bum deal here. But, look at what happened, and then this thread. Then tell us, EXACTLY, what we're misinterpreting, and why we should back off. Maybe, if your story is good enough, we will. D
I haven't been following this tread or story. Just read a few articles.. holy smokes batman! that's some crazy stuff.
The story that keeps on giving. I do have one question for the Scott S. apologists/defenders, however....How is it that you apparently know more about the case than the judge?
I haven't read the through the thread.. just a few articles and wiki article on this guy. Can't imagine anyone defending or apologizing for this guy. 29 people convicted, some very damin evidence and some pretty blatent words, actions from the guy himself. The story reads like a movie script.. crazy crazy stuff. I feel really bad for his wife, I know she was complicit in the fraud but I'm sure he heavily influenced / persuaded her in to it. Wolf of Wall Street / Sappranos comes to mind.
SS's wife was not involved in any way, and no charges were brought up against her. SS was protecting Rothstein's wife by trying to help her end up with a way to survive. He had nothing to do with Rothstein's activities. But selling that jewelry was illegal. A wire on who SS thought was a friend of his and Rothstein's wife closed the deal. Despite the BS responses, 99% of you here do not know the background facts. I spent hours talking to SS and he was completely forthright. Still, none of your comments matter to me. BTW, SS is out of prison, and back with his own wife. SS had no sexual involvement with Rothstein's wife. She was a friend of a friend, and needed legal assistance. SS's wife knew this all along. So possibly this thread full of misinformation should end?
So true. The amount of people, like RP that continue to claim more knowledge than even the judge makes me wonder if they are sock puppets or maybe accessories to the crime. Because there is no way anything they say is true otherwise.
just like the "Who is Reza" thread, no reason to shut the door on this one. After all, those in the know (once the statute of limitations runs out, I'd guess) should be able to tell all without fear of retribution, legal or otherwise. D
