I know, I have to check that out. I don't know if that is just from running the engine or if the old radiator was put back in without painting? Car is actually still in customs, so I have not seen it in the metal yet. That being said, I bought the car in a Bringatrailer.com auction for less than $15k so am not expecting a Pebble Beach quality car. Just a fun toy. Seller is a well known collector and restorer in Greece, and he checks out with others who have bought cars from him. I know people in the U.S. who actually ship cars to him to restore.
Ha, that looks great! I love the name, Scuderia Piccolino, very fitting to your collection. Great work! EDIT: Oops, just re-read and saw it was the seller's work, which makes a lot more sense to me because I know who he is, and I'd seen pics of that garage before. I was wondering if Alex moved to NJ....
Ha, fooled you. Yes, I told Alex to leave all of the Scuderia Piccoilino graphics on it. Those pictures obviously are from his garage. Looking forward to getting the car from the port this weekend.
Nice. Looks like a fun little car. Tough to go wrong for that money. A few of the seller's cars have tempted me on BaT. Just not enough garage space.

Correct, and they were also known as known as carryalls and suburbans. Eventually, the family station wagon of the 50s, 60s and 70s evolved into the SUVs and crossovers of today. However, modern full-sized SUVs are the true "station wagons", in the purest sense. The minivans were originally the "anti-wagons" for the 80s and 90s. But the design theme/definition as per this thread is (from Wikipedia): A station wagon, also called an estate car, estate wagon, or simply wagon, is an automotive body-style variant of a sedan/saloon with its roof extended rearward over a shared passenger/cargo volume with access at the back via a third or fifth door (the liftgate or tailgate), instead of a trunk lid.

I daily drive the one on the right. I sold the other. These are seriously good wagons... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a picture of my 328GT. Mine is Esteroil(sp). This is close to a wagon 90% of the utility and the rear leg room of a 7 series. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah ah ah ah! Let's not pollute the gene pool....... This is NOT a wagon. It may be a very stylish & practical car, but it's a HATCHBACK. Sorry, but true station wagons must have their own space....and this is it. /rant
Wow, I seriously had no idea there was a W210 E55 estate...holy cow! How many were made? How many in Canada? Can't be that hard to bring stateside as the W210 estate existed in the US for crash test purposes...
It's kinda close. I do miss my vw tdi wagons. 96 B4V and a 09 Jetta wagon. The Passat was great for 1000 miles between fill ups. The 09 Jetta wagon was fun but it lacked the character of the A3 and A4 (vw not Audi) tdi sedans I owned. A simple Rocket Chip level 3 make those cars fun to drive.
My contribution to the thread is a 1973 (very last year of production) 1800ES wagon. Two doors and very limited cargo space. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll throw my Aero Swede into the mix I bought 3 months off of CL. Perfect interior, a few "dings" sprinkled about that can be dealt with paintless dent removal 2.3l turbo engine pulls like a train, 3rd gear is a monster and 30mpg highway to boot. Three spokes and flappy paddles all the way back in 2003. Will slowly do the deferred and maybe a few modest "upgrades" here there as things wear out. Was looking for an e39 wagon but this fell into my lap for really short money and couldn't pass up it's safety and performance. Image Unavailable, Please Login
West Loop, Saab Service Above and Beyond. The tech/Owner(?) has been dealing with Saabs I'm guessing 30+ years. Practical/reliable minded first and then you can start to talk about upgrades. Fair pricing so far and convenient to where I work so makes life easy...
love the idea, design, especially the front end Who is the first to write what makes this particular car special? Cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login
