Hello from the 0855GT Ellena Resto

I was told that my particular car currently under resto was advertised in a Ferrari Newsletter back in the day, by one of the owners, Curley.

Brad Balles purchased the car after seeing it advertised in the newsletter (i think that is what he called it)

Does anyone have any old vintage copies they keep of the newsletter from back in the day?

Supposedly he saw it in the early 1976 timeframe - could be dec 75, jan - 76, feb 76 era

    Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried to find out from FML yet? They keep files on the cars that have been listed.

FML is the same family. The daughter has taken over from her deceased father. All the records are still there. Very nice people.

If it is still of any value, here it is advertised in the NYT from 1967:

For completeness here is the FML response to help fill in the ownership blanks.

The above ad filling in some early ownership that ill research.

    Hi Ed,

Congratulations! Here is the history from our database; anything you can
add to fill in the blanks, or confirm will be greatly appreciated. As you
can see, we haven't "heard" about this car in a while!

Identified May 1975 as a 250 GT Ellena Coupe.
Delivered new to or first owner was Henry Gibson, New York, NY/USA. (Marcel
    Massini).
Offered 1971 in New York at 212-684-1978. Low mileage on rebuild. Paint
    so-so, new upholstery. (NYTimes 14 Feb 1971).
Offered 1974 by Mike Curley, Pittsburgh, PA. Very original interior. Body
has one dent. Engine down for rebuild, gearbox just rebuilt. (FCA Jul
    1974).
Identified as 508C/128C single distributor in May 1975.
Listed in 1975-1976 FOCUSA Rosters by Bradley E. Balles, San Francisco,
    CA/USA.
Listed in 1977-1979 FOCUSA Rosters by Candace Daniels, Mountain View,
    CA/USA.

The ad you refer to was placed in the Ferrari Club of America Bulletin, not
the FML - the text above is more than likely all that the ad was and it
    doesn't look like much help!

wow, i am amazed and grateful for the info.......looks like the ad per the info from FML stated above...looks like the car spent a lot of time around NY....ultimately it ended up in Mike Curley's hands around 74 - he was out of pittsburg pa....from there we have a good info

so i have new purchase in 58, then ad for sale in 67, now this one in 71....need to get some names and contact info.

    thank you again for searching!!
