    Just buy one Robert! :D

BTW I was amazed to find out your past and couldn't believe it was the same guy that is holding a Ferrari trophy and the the one that look like a Viking. I'm also a drummer but not of your caliber.

  5. His original drawing with the rockers painted silver is something I've thought about for several years. Like a Miura. I like that he kept the engine compartment looking stock & the interior, recreated the 2 spoke wheel and a few other touches. Nicely done.

REALLY nice modded Pantera, very subtle. I like that he made sure to use 'euro' side marker lights...a small detail, but excellent choice. Love it. I have always liked his work, so no surprise he made good with the Pantera.

I'm fairly amazed at the restraint. Foose is top notch, made an 80's El Camino look like a Series 1 Camaro and fantastic as a result.

I'd say his subtlety here is a nod of respect to Mr. Tjaarda's original. Hard to improve Mona Lisa, except for cheekbones and cleavage, but I digress.

Personally, I despised the Ring Brother's version... the clownish look more like Ringling Brothers instead.

The Foose car is very clean, will likely be tasteful 50 years from now, just as the original. Nice job.

I love the "less is more" approach.

Tjaarda said of the lower stripe on the Pantera that the car needed it as without it they looked like a fat cat....dragging its belly around.

Wow. Big respect to Foose for the respect he's shown this classic design. The wheels are a really cool riff on the originals, and that side stripe is right where it needs to be.

I remember seeing an interview with Chip Foose years ago where, when asked about designing the cars, he said all he did was to "take the ugly out".

I think that the fact Chip did so very little to modify this car (except to try to make it look even more like the earliest variant) speaks great volumes about the masterful job that Tom Tjaarda did on the Pantera design. There really isn't much ugly to remove (except for the original Ford-supplied Capri steering wheel — which Chip replaced).

I love the end result and am glad that this car now replaces the Ring Brothers car in the limelight. This car honors the Pantera instead of trying to "modernize" it. Thank you Mr Foose.

One thing that the latest two well known builders have done is bring the Pantera more into the general public's attention.:) Real car guys usually know what a Pantera is, but a lot of casual enthusiasts do not.

Well said , SEAMA had 140 K people attend so there was a crowd around all the cars. The Ringer brothers Pantera that was shown was just bad. in the same league as this

Your recollection is somewhat correct. I never did buy a 6.0 Diablo, but did make several attempts which fell through, and then bought an early Aston Martin Vanquish to keep the Ford GT company, but the less said about the Vanquish, the better!! I sold it, and thats the end of that :)
The R8 is a great car, one of the most well rounded cars I have ever driven in fact, and good fun too, which surprised me when I first took a test drive.
On the subject of the 6.0 Diablo, I went forward and bought a beautiful manual LP640, which to be honest has pushed the desire for a Diablo out the window.
I like the Z8 a lot, very very pretty car, but they no longer make any sense to me given the recent steep rise in prices.

    Results have been very strong...

The Mecum numbers last month were very good. Widebody 9000 series cars did over $200k.

How about the traditional L and pre-L cars? Are good ones truly bringing over $100K now?
