Mine had some pretty good power. I remember doing a 5k clutch drop and hearing a big bang from the rear of the car. I figured I blew up the rear end but turns out I sheared off most of the studs on both rear wheels.

My early car were all brits, taught me how to work on cars, since something broke after every drive. Then I went to wanting something new (and I had the first RX7 in 79 the first GTI in 83), but in 1984 I bought my first Porsche a 1979 SC Targa, (it was white and the only white one I have ever owned) I have owned at least one Porsche ever since that day.

I don't think my non Turbo 1991 Saab 900 I got when I was 15 in 2002 counts. So, skip ahead to 2006, my 2001 VW GTI VR6 was a fast little car, tuned and all, then I bought a 2003 Evo VIII, owned it for a month, realized I was poor, sold it and bought an XJ Cherokee. Then bought a '69 Nova SS, sold it, two Maserati Meraks, sold them, now my Mondial with a BLISTERING 214hp sits, waiting for me to get back from this deployment to blow the cobwebs off! :)

I always wanted one. One day i'll pull the trigger. I still think they're good looking and quick.

First "sports" car 2003 Acura CL Type S, 6 speed. She was quick in her day. Got her into the 13.90's back in 2003 with some bolt ons. Then it went downhill from there and the bug bit hard. Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaro's, VW's, porsches, AMG, etc. Its a stupid expensive hobby.

Hell I even had a tuned up big rig. Over 600HP and 2200lb ft of torque with the limiter removed ;) . You think you've been fast, go 100 in a Semi. THATS fast!

Not really a muscle car, but I had a 73' Grand prix with a 455 and the nice looking honeycomb wheels on it. Sold it in the mid -80's after I got married and still regret that move...the sale not the marriage!

my first sports car was my first car, 77 Camero RS... But it had a 302, so not very big on performance. next in line as a 90 NA 300zx, again just OK. Upgrade to a 90 TT (twin turbo), now this is what I considered my first performance car. I tracked it..

Then went up to the big leagues with my current 05 f430..

Almost always forget my 93 VW Corrado VR6. It was a fun little car. Sort of like a nicer more stylish GTI. Id get another for a fun winter car. It still looks good today. Problem all the ones I've seen for sale have really high mileage.

Like many a ferrari, they may not accelerate fast off the line, but can maintain a speed faster than many a modern car on a twisty, plus you feel the speed in them.

As an aside, carnival owned the SS United states for a few years while thinking what to do with it. that ship could reputedly hit close of 50 knots.

My first hot rod was a 1966 Buick Gran Sport. 2 speed powerglide with posi. You could coax a 14.9 et out of it at the strip. Hooked up good, and was fast until you shifter around 65mph. Then they came after you.

Did beat Mickey Mantle Jr. driving his Boss 302 in it, at Dallas International Motor Speedway in 1970. Killed him at the lights.

Yes sir it was, the 4age that was also in the MKI MR2. I learned a lot about car control and drifting (the car just naturally drifted on its own) with it. I would like to find add another one someday.

2007 BMW E92 335. First manual transmission, took two days off work to drive around and get used to it.

Traded it in for my A3 in 2012.

I do feel like I have more overall enjoyment out of the A3, but I do miss the Bimmer. I certainly don't regret owning it.

    Fun.

I bought a Audi 100LS from my uncle like the one below. It was a four cylinder and would accelerate equally with the Trans Am's, Camaros & Mustangs on my school parking lot in the eighties. But then one day a basketball player at school got an IROC Z. He beat my Audi in an impromptu race... So I sold it off & bought a friggen Plymouth GTX. After a driveway restoration I became (once again) the fastest car at school. And that Mopar changed the description of fast.

From that day forward no-one in my school ever called a Camaro, Trans Am or Mustang a "performance car".

    I don't believe I've ever seen an Audi 100LS. I love it.

A red BMW M3 my dad bought me when I turned 17. Loved that thing. Drove way too fast on fun back roads on the 20 minute drive to high school every day.

    What year?

One can never go wrong with a "real" M3. I say real meaning the previous M3's before the latest confusing generation, is it a M3 or a M4, nonsense.
