steak and seafood, plus a good wine list. I like a nice place with above average food quality and great service, which includes table side prep of some dishes. Dress code (enforced) preferred.

Here is my reccomendation - dont go. New Orleans is NOT much of a fine dining food place if you ask me... you can get all that cajun stuff... but its usually overcooked spicy beyond need, and greasy.

only place i found that was ok was a place called sobu - south of bourbon... it was pretty good... Commanders Place - terrible as is anything on Bourbon st.

I'm not a fan... dont know why its so talked about.

Juan's Flying Burrito on Magazine St. Get the blackened redfish tacos with chili-lime cilantro sauce on the side.

Not fine dining by any stretch, but the margaritas will make up for it! :D

Indulge in Cajun fare while you are there. Not "Fine Dining", more like "Peasant Grub", but authentic and tasty!
It is good to slum is now and then...

Mark, I strongly suggest you try Clancy's. It is a cab ride from the fq but well worth it. Also, Restaurant August is fantastic and walking distance from your hotel.

Way too many places in Nawlins to choose from. Although most are not what I'd call fancy. Antoine's and Galatoires are two nice old school places. Herbsaint and Bayona are two nice places...T

Please report back and let us know where you went and how they all stacked up. There are so many wonderful eateries in nola...that's usually what my trips revolve around when I visit the crescent city. Enjoy!
