Their respective prices were absolutely correct. I do follow SWB values more closely than 275 values and so this reply will concentrate more on SWB values which seem to fall into two camps. Last year at Monterey Gooding (3113GT) & Rick Cole (#3735GT) offered very average no story SWB's at Monterey, both selling in effectively post block transactions, #3725GT at a claimed 9.725 mil USD and #3113GT at an undisclosed amount. This year RM has offered two Comp 60 (#1953GT and 1773GT) and neither sold. Meanwhile Artcurial has announced they will offer #4065GT early in 2016 and both Fiskens and Talacrest have sold at least one SWB in the last year.

My two camps comment is in regard to the multiple cars that have been offered with the hope that all street SWB are worth $10 million plus which has encouraged multiple offerings. Many SWB are offered with reserves in excess of this magic figure and head back home thus putting them in one camp. The other camp is reserved for a vendor like Colton that would appear to have selected a perfectly reasonable reserve and sold the car for a absolutely market correct figure. Could have gone for a million more without surprise...... And the gross sale price with all the extra's added in will exceed $10 million.

As for the 275GTB market I think prices at Monterey were somewhat softer than in previous years. Collectively the number of these cars is not exactly low production compared to many other Ferrari models and I believe the cooling in the market will ensure that all but the very best will be about 20% off where they were in 2014. As such I would suggest the sale price was again spot on.

    Just one mans opinion

In my opinion the SWB was spot on re current market values but the 275 was strong money given its lack of originality...odd tyres, Mercedes paint and non original interior....there are definitely better cars out there for less money. In fact both cars need sympathetic but expensive restoration....no shame in this as neither car was claiming to be as built. It will be interesting to watch their future.......Anyone know where they sold to ? Trade or private ?

The cars were offered at no reserve from Colton's estate with proceeds going to charity. From the last time I saw it (at the FOC concours a few years ago) it is very much in driver condition and that seems to be reflected in the report on K500 K500 Classic Cars Index - A Guide to Classic Cars

The fact that this was a RHD car (1 of 10) will have some influence on the value as well (not sure whether that is up or down).

1995GT has also had an engine, gearbox, chassis and suspension rebuild since being bought at the auction, which will no doubt add considerably to what it owes or owed the last owner, who has driven it a few thousand miles since buying it.

Yes, I too wonder what the current asking price is of this very interesting semi comp 250 GT SWB.

Based on the two most recent sales of basic lusso spec Short Wheelbases, $7.5 - 8.5 mil. is current market so even with unique spec maybe $9 - 9.5 mil. max, competizione spec cars should still be $9 - 12 mil. depending on race history while SEFAC hotrods would be $20 million +. 275GTBSaran made note of the fact that through 2014 there were few examples on offer and prices were high, $10 million + then from 2015 there were 3 - 5 offered per year which reached its peak in 2017 with almost 20 on offer and prices dived. Supply and demand at its purest, even at this level.
