    Although Jim walked away I heard that an MRI showed some significant problems. Any info on what injuries were sustained?

    Absolutely, we called it the 2/3rds rule in karting, meaning that had to be how much the overlap of the cars were, to make the lead car concead the line to the passing (supposedly faster) car.

    Waiting for a better opportunity would have been hugely wise, in retrospect....

    Hope he is getting better from the injuries.

    This may have been mentioned before, but that area of the (RA) "straight-a-way" is not straight. If a car goes right through the middle of the bridge (and track) about 400 yards prior to that point and continues on straight he will find himself on the left side of the road perhaps giving the illusion that he actually veered left when in fact he went straight.
