Judging from the seats, the wrinkled leather behind the seats (once wet?), the filthy suspension and subframe in the back, the scraped up and damaged belly pan under the nose and the split airdam on the right front, I would say this car has been VERY WELL used, possibly more than the 39,000 miles indicated on the odometer.

I'm guessing it's due for more than a typical belt service, a LOT MORE.

Consider the dealer selling the Testarossa.

Claimed "1" owner since new, yet NO mentioning of service history or if currently registered.

Prices over here are also running DOWN !

One owner here wanted to sell his 1991 TR ... asking K€ 120 ... is now to € 80 ... and no buyers ... :)

Not sure i agree with you Mel.
Perhaps the owner you are quoting just needs the money quick! Even LHD cars in the UK are going for £100k+ (€140-150k)..... difficulty talking to reputable dealers in the marque, is getting quality stock, but when they do get this the cars move quickly. Good 512TR's are now pushing the £200k price point , and there hasn't been a RHD version for sale in months.
Perhaps the subject of this thread is suffering from the fact that its a US spec, has obvious issues that need rectifying and like others i would suggest slightly dubious mileage considering the general overall condition..... probably therefore priced reasonably, in the current market .

    Jez

That dealership always has cars with colorful past. I would love to hear this car's story.

The seat lowers and rear shelf are super wrinkled. It must be some sort of flood car.

One thing is that the exhaust system looks a little homemade, and is technically poorly done with the O2 sensors only sampling 3 cylinders in each bank -- but the interior condition has to be the biggest minus - JMO...

Yah, this poor TR is a basket-case. There had better be $50k worth of coke in the glovebox to make this a square deal.

Perhaps they do yet he always has buyers.

You guys are also so focused on the miles. Mileage never ever means anything in s car beyond its warranty. Then it's buy in condition.

    Which is very suspicious.

I've been following the 3x8 and Mondial offerings at BHCC. They are usually best described as major projects. Most of the ones that I've seen have been in need of major work.
Many of them had major rust issues. Some of them had missing and damaged body panels.

I'd take a very, very, very close look at this if I was a serious buyer.

And, who knows, I'll be facing retirement in the next 5 years or so. This might make a fantastic retirement project.

The seats look like they have been re-dyed at some point, they do not match the rest of the interior. The very wrinkled leather panel behind the seats is suspicious. The front air dam is pushed back on the driver's side. I agree with others, that interior would need a serious refreshing. I wouldn't be afraid of that car if it runs and drives well. Like SIDTX mentions, it would be a great project for someone who likes to do their own work.

Overspray evidence around the drivers side door jam so at least the left side has seen some body work. Clean engine compartment with some new hoses and the valve covers look fresh. Others have said, 'BHCC is a crap shoot at best'.

The front spoiler and skid plates are an easy cheap fix. But a good PPI would be more than warranted. I dont know if they allow PPis there.

it's best to consider BHCC as somewhat of a wrecking yard.

I had ONE foray with BHCC. A lady there was extremely professional and kind, yet I think the guy named 'Alex' who intervened was absolutely, over the top, arrogant and rude.

When I inquired initially via email, I wan't positive it was them, but due to all the bad reviews, soon as I saw the 'reply' email, I almost ended it. Once speaking with Mr. Congeniality, that sealed it.

I wouldn't buy a lug nut from them.

Well, the pics are not very good to begin with so that's not helping out with the way the interior looks. These have gotten to the point $$ wise where a thorough PPI is a must with any purchase. Good compression results would go miles with this one. A good PPI will also catch if it's been significantly wrecked-a comp test won't...what the hell does trans work on a TR cost. Maybe I've looked at a few of these 12 cyl cars!

What I find amazing is how a TR at $89k is so low that it raises eyebrows these days. The guys behind the gate made a lot of these (comparatively). It's amazing how quickly they've shot up lately.
