Time to move on...Sold my red 1992 512TR
Still keeping my black 1994 512TR

Need to stay busy with new Project..
Bought this car and thinking of converting it to a lightweight Replica luxury Tribute car..
I have always been enamored by the ultimate E..

It is a 1968 series 1....manufactured mid 67..right at the time the 1.5 was being introduced.
Jaguar Heritage certificate has it labeled 67..many performance upgrades already installed.

This particular car is a 100 point remanufactured car..original shell, engine and chassis with a $200,000.00 nut ...bolt and wire and glass..rotisserie restoration..
however it has the 1.5 interior..so it is not as sacred as the earlier 67's..
But that is why I bought it...it can be modified to my taste..

    My 6th E type..And My winter project.
    A truly spectacular car..

Why not modify another E-type jaguar vs an example that has undergone a $200,000.00 nut & bolt restoration?

Does the dashboard have toggle switches or rocker?

    As 1968's have rocker switches.

On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made".[6]

When All The F cars are spoken for..there will only be one collectable left..

Certainly we are not far off!

Have to agree, I had a 99.78 point 65 etype ots. In original condition lots needs to be changed to make them a much better driving car. Best money I spent was on an electronic ignition and aluminum rad and expansion tank, then better adjustable shocks with better springs.

If i were getting another and maybe down the road, I'd look for a series 1 coupe and do dunlop rCinv wheels and lower it just a tad. Seen them this way and they look incredible.

But regardless, enjoy it for the rest of the better weather. Beautiful cars indeed.

The Equal to this car in a 67 full series 1 would be valued at $300,00,000 to $400,000.00

This car was half that..thats why it is expendible..odd inbetween model.

Sorry...Maybe Moderator should move this thread to British section..

Heres what i want to have it look like
    I have the hardtop
I would widen arches to fit 8 inch dunlops

Michael; per chance do you have any interior photos of the hardtop racing Jaguar?

I'd like to see what body panels were removed/cut to facilitate the need for venting the rear decklid.

Perhaps inside of widening the wheel well arches, being that the Jaguar differential has inboard discs, you could consider running a wider tire by utilizing rims with a negative offset.

    My suggestion exactly.

XKEs are plentiful. Don't butcher a nicely restored car. If someone spent $200k restoring a '68 they are a bit nuts. (I wouldn't spend $200k restoring my '62 roadster.)

Buy a nice solid car on Ebay for well under $100k then do what you want building your SLW (Semi-Lightweight) You'll need to buy an aluminum bonnet, aluminum doors, aluminum rear deck-lid and hardtop. You'll also need the rear fender extensions.

I've been there....done it. Contact me if you want more info or photos.

I've recently been bitten by the E-Type bug. I have one on consignment, and I want to buy it for myself in the worst way. I've always loved them, but after driving it, the hooks are in deep.

congrats on the sale of the TR. I am not surprised you would take advantage of the market seconds before a lull. You pulled top dollar no doubt. That Jag conversion will be a ball of fun!
