Well flame me if I disgust you But its been a long long time dream to blow a Ferrari. The 928 motorsports kit is fitted and I am awaiting a fuel line, upper radiator hose and WUR harness extension to finish it off. Its killing me waiting for the parts that weren't sent in error but it will be worth the wait I am sure. The bits have left the USA and are expected mid week here in Oz. Looks to be a well sorted and thought out kit but time will tell. Had to play with some shimming between the outer and inner mount brackets to get the belt running just right and that's been fiddly but took my time and got the set up right so it doesn't throw the belt. I will post an update when completed and run/tested. It had a new clutch 2000klm ago and new cam belts at that time as well so it should be good to go Peter
I'm looking forward to hearing your results! What HP gains are you expecting from your modifications?
Not at all! Please keep us posted as to progress and I'm sure we're all eager to hear tuning details and driving impressions.
Fitted it up and ran it to check run out on the pulley and noticed I got a little more twist out of the crank pulley bolt when I put the rattle gun on it, which has moved the belt alignment Pulled it down again and am getting 2 mm taken off the spacers to get the correct alignment. Disappointed but its got to be right So to date no road test yet ...sorry I will get the spacers machined down on Monday and put it together again
Well the kits is on and car up and running and all I can say is that it is a different car...seriously. It has changed the entire rev range and torque characteristics of the engine for the better. Seems to start easier to when hot...not that I had a problem but it seems different on hot start now. You can hear the whine of the blower a mile away and while it dumps pressure on run off it doesn't sound like a "pimp my ride" rice burner. Subtle indeed I must say. I would recommend the fit up to anyone that enjoys an exciting drive as it is now extremely exciting to drive. I haven't got right into it yet as I want to "run" it in and stretch everything nice and slow but even under 2/3 throttle in 2nd and 3rd it gets away from you which it no way did prior to the fit up. I am a tight arse so haven't paid for subscription so cant post pics but look at 928 Motorsports - Porsche® 928 Performance Parts - Complete Supercharger Kit for Ferrari 308 and 328 I have no affiliation to this vendor
Fantastic Peter!!! Great Job! Any thoughts on putting it on a Dyno? What HP/TQ numbers you think your getting? Keep up the great work and enjoy!
No plans to date The dyno numbers are on their site and quoted at ncrease from 202 RWHP upto 320 RWHP Even if its around 300 I am stoked and happy as a pig in sh$% I don't think 928 are doing the kit any longer
Hey Peter, You don't need to be subscribed to post pictures. After typing your post, but before you hit the "submit" button, scroll down and select the "manage attachments" button. The rest is pretty straight forward. Cheers, Hank
I will post up some pics ASAP I have it stored in a shed at the moment as I am having my "man cave " constructed at home which is a 9x6 meter shed with roller doors and a hoist for my toys But I have to go and get the Fezza over the weekend so will post over the weekend. Its definitely been worth the money and effort to fit it up though.
Thats cool! you ozzies like to drive blown cars gonna start calling you " MAD PETER" thats a "mad max" reference in case im showing my age
LOL I had a Porsche 928 S4 that I blew and just couldn't get over the difference that made as well....so it was only a matter of time until the Fezza got the hairdryer fitted. With the new exhaust it screams and definitely has attitude now, whereas it was my pet hate the engine exhaust note/noise it made...sounded like a Datsun 1200 engine and I couldnt bear it. Ferraris need to sound regal
