I just read that too - It was Merhi's Marussia (Manor?) that he passed - I guess old habits stick with you. Even if the Merc's disappear into the sunset, we may just get some good racing further back..... Hopefully the TV guys will realize that too..... Cheers, Ian
Could be the fact that a WDC from a team not named Ferrari tends to wear the black hat on here (generally speaking). I once felt the same way about Schumacher and Vettel. Always liked Ayrton in spite of the fact he drove for the enemy. Same with Hamilton.
If there is a race on the grid that's more forgiving to those at the back of the grid, this is the one! Should definitely make for good racing (though it deprives us of the Merc v. Ferrari battle up front).
You really think that passing five more nohopers will take that much time? If the cars strong Seb will be in the points by the end of the first round of pit stops.
I wouldn't be too quick to rule Kimi out for tomorrow! As for Seb: Jenson Button showed what can be achieved in Canada back in 2011 when he went from last to win the race. (Okay, Seb is highly unlikely to win tomorrow, but with the pace that the Ferrari has shown in race trim, coupled with the fact that he has plenty of new tyres to play with, it should give him a great chance of making up for a disastrous qualy and salvage a decent result.)
I was really looking forward to seeing what Ferrari could bring to the table with the new engine. This is one of my favorite tracks and I really thought Seb could have a day here. I just don't think Kimi is up to the challenge. I just don't. A little disappointed that here we have another race where the silver arrows will just drive off to in a different league. I was really looking forward to this race. Like others have said though...maybe it'll be interesting to see a charge from behind...but the winner is gonna be Ham I think. He just has Nico's number I think.
I think we'll have a great race! Kimi has been fast in the races, it's been his qualifying position that has left him behind - now, he's best of the rest. He should finish at least 3rd... and we have the Mercedes cars that have experienced occasional brake issues, at the track that is toughest on brakes. We also have a fast Vettel starting at the back, so he could carve through the pack; we also have Massa at the back where he deserves to be based on driver skill ranking ;P , but in a fast Williams that could see him try to move up also and provide some action. I'm looking forward to watching this race, I think it's going to be fun!!!
Vettels run through the field will surely be hampered by massa? I didn't get to catch the practices but I would assume that Williams straight line speed will be prohibitive to an overtake
Massa's typical protestation when being passed, "I had the racing line" even when the other car is ahead and Massa runs into it, will be the biggest worry for Vettel...
Melancholy experience watching qualifying. Great to see Kimi in P3, and his exciting driving getting there, but man what a disaster for Seb and the other car. I'd love to see Kimi force a mistake out of Nico...there are plenty of places to do so on this course. Can't wait for the race; think I must go next year with the wife.
I'm excited by the prospect of Sundays race. Vettel starting back in the field, Lotus up in the field, Kimi in good position to take advantage of any Rosberg issues. One of the best tracks in the series and the hard use of the brakes can cause hybrid/KERS issues (Mercedes). I don't think Hamilton will have it all his way this time. GV27TIFOSI
That's what I thought for Monaco! We can still be surprised. Barring surprises though, I think you're right.
see??? straight onto the defence/offence....whichever.... it doesn't matter WHO does the stupidity, it all adds to the show. You're hilarious how you react to posts these days.
I can't see what's wrong with that; they are dominating. The others just need to do some catching up.
