Just a few years ago the going rate was circa $250K. I guess the restorers can charge according to the market.
Ed, four years ago I looked into a PB quality resto for a rare, coachbuilt Ferrari that was in "barn find" condition. The figures I received from multiple sources (the usual suspects) were all circa $600k.
Being in a preservation mode leaves less room for conjecture & speculation. The car has been static for decades unless proven otherwise. Fascinating. Great car.
Thank you all for the many replies about restoration of this California. I don't know who won the auction,of course, but the question is: the new owner shall keep the car in its actual conditions, or he is going to restore it? Anyone knows? Regards
On french TV, a guy from Artcurial said the new owner will keep the car in unrestored condition except mechanical components. Not sure how much this info was accurate...
Can already be seen ... In French, but very nice report on Arte.tv , with the testimony of one of our loyal contributors https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/060791-001-A/au-fil-des-encheres-la-ferrari-california-spider/
