The 350GT and 400GT are, IMO, amazing body styles with wonderful interiors. Aside from the drivetrain, I feel they are in a different class than the Maser.
The body style of either of those Lamborghinis or the 3500 does zip for me but that's subjective I suppose. A V12 and a superior chassis is not. Maserati didn't get there chassis wise until the Bora/Merak and Khamsin. I actually prefer the V8 to the V12 lamborghini from a driveability standpoint. It just has better torque sooner but a V12 is a V12 for many. I don't think the Lambos have an interior that's superior in quality to a Ghibli or an Indy. As long as you're comparing original cars and not the over restored examples we see so much of today. Everyone is improving upon the original quality of these cars now.
Maserati 5000 GT by Frua als Sportwagen/Coupé in Bucuresti They have certainly dug out something interesting in Romania. Is it real? O
3500 GT...I didn't assume that a live axle could be "subjectively" inferior to independent suspension, just inferior. The body style and interior is totally subjective, as is the collective market value. No offense. staatsof…I agree that the Ghibli and post 1971 model Indys have wonderful interiors, but the comparison was to the 3500 GT.
OK but the 3500 has far earlier origins whereas the Ghibli overlaps more with the 350/400GT. Neither holds a candle to that 5000GT Frua just mentioned here!
just checked the rm site. seems the 5000gt frua did not sell for the 2.2-2.9M$ estimate. so everybody rush to romania now see link above. you can get it at 650k€ bargain. i assume some western union advance payment of 10% or so will be demanded in order to secure the deal for you. caveat emptor!
It's not quite dead yet, but not far off.....yours for 60k. Apparently missing rear lights, and some chrome trim. Oh, hmm interesting. I guess I'm not paying enough attention, but I missed that Mitchell sold a QPI. Mitchell, you still have the Paris show car, correct?

Hi Julian... Thanks for posting the Australian "bargains"... The QPI is a nice looking car.. There has been some work done on the car, and a couple of things (nothing major) that could probably be better, but all in all, very nice... Do you happen to know the history of this car? Mike
