Ron...Saw some other photos of the restoration online and on Fchat. Impressive. Any other details you can share - how long did it take? How many craftsman were involved? Etc. As a scientist, I'm particularly intrigued with the challenges involved with working with magnesium-containing alloys. Thanks...T

Thank you for your posts! This is a great collection. Do you know the specs of all the recreations? Motors & bodies? Are they all aluminum, or all fiberglas, or a mix? Any with Bug motors?

    Thanks again for your pix.

Number 8 in Germany looks like the one at Volkswagen's Autostadt museum in Wolfsburg. Yes?

Very nice. Is this the Seydoux car? I was skimming the web, and one site claimed two replicas of this car - each with several original pieces after the crash. Is this car on display now?...T

I never realized until following this thread that these cars had "suicide doors". Gorgeous two-tone interior…T

meh......way too flashy.....nothing at all like the sophisticated gray/blue of the other replica..........

    (I know......"opinions are like......" ;-)

Q: did Bugs 'back in the day" come off as flashy, or sophisticated? Or both?

    Hi James...
I vote sophisticated. Everything looks sophisticated in old time B&W and sepia toned photos. I especially like the pic with the elegant lady holding a dog...T
