Dealers are being completely stupid. Instead of selling them to locals at MSRP, they are trying to sell them nationwide for huge markups. So, they sit. Right now there are 30 on Cars.com instead of owner's garages.

Which is why I did not buy the 2 I looked at here in Germany. Neither have sold either. I might look again in the spring but I will not pay over spec price. Even ever so slightly used they are not moving well. There is no real shortage in that case and this is not a limited run of 500 vehicles either.

Having spent some time in a 4C on some twisty mountain roads I can say its an astonishing car, perhaps the only downside is it just begs you to drive it, to really drive, throw it around some corners and the whole feel of the car is simply amazing.

As an everyday proposition maybe its not too rounded but when you want to experience the joy of driving then it has few equals, for me its a baby 458 such is its poise and handling abilities.

I'm seeing what appear to be a good number at or around MSRP on Autotrader.

Spent some quality time in the new 4C and I am impressed, They did a great job, its like a little stradale/scuderia - fast , noisy , handles like a track car, a blast to drive. Too bad its 30 degrees out, I don't think the sticky Pirelli's appreciate the low temps, and since it only has 100 miles on it , I will have to wait to spring to really enjoy the cars potential. Did someone say track day.

Are you trading the C7 in on a 4C?

Antonio Scalzo owner of FIAT Chicago said I should be able to order a normal edition 4C in a few weeks. He said the out the door price should be around $55,000.00.

The ad is kind of overdone and silly. Sell Italian culture to the masses with sex.

That is certainly not a new concept in selling. I doubt it would be used so often if it didn't work. Certainly not for everybody but you have to admit there is a certain allure to the ad. Curves of the girl and the car. Sex and driving. Hmmmm they are my top two favs...lol!

I have an intro version 4C coming to me next week. Can't wait. I fear my poor little Abarth will be kicked to the curb for the new hot one in my garage. My girlfriend is safe though....

Really looking forward to driving one. Question for those who have driven both, would you rather an 08 V8 Vantage or the 4C?

I have not ordered it yet, but I think red with the 5 hole Alfa wheels if I do. I want the demand to die down a little so I can get the best price. Can't drive it now since the bloody arctic came to town yesterday!!

The 5 hole wheels are a must. I owe the local dealer a call back about ordering protocol. I'll report back here with what they tell me.

It will be a while before the demand dies down, so I doubt you'll be able to find a deal for a number of years. After all they will be making only about 2000 per year max and demand, at least so far, greatly outstrips supply.

They said the same thing about the Elise and in 2006 dealers couldn't give them away.

I put a deposit to hold my spot in line for a 4c today. Not expecting it till end of 2015. What I want is a modern version of my 308. Not perfect but full of character and great to look at. I have a 911 that I like but don't wake up looking forward to driving like I do the 308.
