    I know we have some W201 fans in here. Here is my '88 190E 2.3 in Petrol Blue-Green Metallic with extremely rare Olive velour interior. I am the third owner. The previous owners had the car since 1992 and 12k miles. It shows 109k miles, but for a while the odometer was only working when cold. I have since fixed the slipping odometer gear. Actual mileage is approximately 130k. Maintenance and repairs have been well documented.
    Options include power sunroof, locking differential, Zebrano wood trim, outside temperature display (does not read correctly), and automatic transmission. Includes two sets of wheels and tires, car cover, and boxes of spare parts. It's not a concours car, but it is in very good condition and would make a great driver that will last a long time.
    Asking $4,900.00, but I'm negotiable for F-chatters :D

    Best cars ever built IMHO. I had one I drove to 700k before the engine gave out..

    World record. Usually the control arms rust out long before the engine takes a crap.

    Wow....two cars that have become more and more hard to find over the past year. I have a 190 2.3 16V and was half hardheartedly looking for another XR...nothing but junk for sale.

    My mom had a 190E 2.3 (and dad had a 300E) when I was a young teenager. What a great car it was too - built as solidly as a tank and never went wrong. The only reason it was sold was due to an international move.

    Has a black on black 190e of the same year. It's got just over 450k miles on it without significant maintenance history. These cars go forever......

    A shame that '03 and after, you are lucky to get past the warranty before things start falling out on the road. MB ain't what it used to be.

    Gypsy-curious as to why you say 03? Buddy of mine runs a junkyard and he said w140 was the last great "big body benz". I agree that they have really lost their way in terms of build quality longevity.

    I had an 88' 190E. It was a tank!!!!! Always felt like a million bucks when I got behind the wheel.

    The car had 500K when I sold it and it still ran pretty nicely.

    +1 '88 2.3 was my first car. Paid $3,400 at 125k miles. Put ~45k miles on it with modest maintenance other than tires. Sold for $3,200.

    I say that, counselor, because, when MD introed the new body style in '03, everything went to hell. Ours was in the shop constantly, and failed completely on a trip and stranded us in Nasty little Roanoke, VA where the MB dealer was nothing but an incompetent hillbilly. Other friends have reported that the warranty period is the extent of the vehicle life while others with pre-'03 models sing their praises. This car for sale is one of the good ones. Unless you lease a current MB and get rid of it when the warranty ends, you are just wasting money. Pretty cars but, never again.
