Saw this from the 60th anniversary Beverly Hills event this past weekend - Anyone know who's car this is, and what color it is? It appears to be a 612. (I should mention I only saw this picture) - if I could've read the plaque to the left, I probably wouldn't be asking! Image Unavailable, Please Login
This URL has interesting info on the golden aperta... http://m.autoblog.com/2009/12/11/ferrari-p540-superfast-aperta-revealed-second-from-special-proj/ Apparently, commissioned by son of the inventor of cable TV. I'd say that was a money maker! T
Actually, found one online. The rear haunches, body lines and stance tell me it's actually a 599 underneath. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, exactly. I didn't know much about the car (even though I saw it last weekend) and had just noted the 599 interior. Looked up the specs on google out of curiosity and realized it's a 599, not a 612.
The only clue in that first picture here were the hood vents which I might have seen but didn't quite register. I realize any 1 of 1 Ferrari deserves it's due respect, but this one is really hard for me to appreciate just yet.
The front end is actually quite attractive in person, much more striking than in the pictures. It also helps that I really like the 612's headlights. The rear of the car didn't sit well with me though. It's a cluster of mismatched proportions and styling cues from various generations that don't mesh well together. It's been upgraded to GTO wheels from the 599 Challenge wheels it originally had.
+1 on this. Looks better coming than going IMO. Looking at gallery of Google images, car seems smooth & curvy from front, angular from back. Nitpicking though since it's a beautiful car nonetheless...T
Agree. I've seen this car in the flesh during the presentation of the 599 GTO 4 years ago at the Classiche Department and it is a beautiful car.
Here are some pics I saved a while back - I believe this is the same car: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good call! To my untrained eye, they do look similar...T Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
