Andres, I think you have the most awesome garage!!!

Now, raise that car higher - you have some room ;)

I'm actually talking to my contractor buddy now about vaulting my garage ceiling over the lift bay. It's a 10' high ceiling now so I plan to raise it to 14' and track the door up the slope.

I just want to raise the cars the full 6' without worry about hitting the ceiling.

Many thanks, David, Mike, Dave. I'm glad you like the workshop. It has things and ideas I thought of when I worked in my previous garages. I decided that, since I tended to be messy, I should have an uncluttered workspace to begin with. It works well so far.

Dave, yes, you are right. The lift can still go up; it was just convenient at that height to get to the filter. But the Danmar is not a full-height lift, being intended for home garages. Unfortunately, design considerations for the house dictated the ceiling height. It would be nice to have a full-size lift. You are doing the right thing.

    Best,

    Andy

David, the maximum Maxjax lift height (at the pad) is 45" or 1143 mm. A supplied extension adds three inches. One can't stand beneath the lifted car, but can sit on a rolling stool to work.

While a bit low at least anything falling off the car won't have as big a drop.

That is true, David. And I've dropped and spilled a few things, too. Incidentally, the white, plain floor makes finding that dropped little washer, etc., easier to find.

I know I've seen you discuss it before, but please remind me...is your floor in the work area under the lift epoxy or tile? I seem to recall you having both in different parts of your garage, but can't remember which was where.

Now that I have I light colored epoxy floor I'd never go back to concrete.

Nathan, the work area is epoxy, and the parking areas are tiled.
