Needs to be the UK, certainly for the shakedown.

Does Anglesey have noise regs? I feel like I remember Harris saying they didn't...

The production work that EVO have done on that circuit has already been fantastic. The scenery is incredible.

Anglesey might be a good suggestion. EVO managed many laps there with a 458 Speciale to set their benchmark time at that circuit. And the Speciale is notoriously noisy.

You are absolutely correct and that is where we will do the full test, we are just trying to find somewhere closer for the shakedown as it is quite a haul from London for what should hopefully be a short event.

Longcross? Nice and close, worth a call perhaps? Nice scenery too...

Hi Tim, my first post in this most amazing of rebuild threads; I've been following from the very beginning though, and consider myself to be one of the now-sheepish silent observers who didn't speak up at when you very nearly didn't continue to post due to a lack of demand. I'd like to say that I'm very glad you did continue.

With regards your exhaust and noise limits - how loud has it turned out to be? I did search and saw that you were aiming for 105db, but how close to this did you achieve? Apologies if you have already answered this elsewhere.

Amazing to consider I was concerned about lack of interest nearly 600,000 views later! I am also very glad I did continue as I too have greatly enjoyed sharing my journey as well as receiving some great suggestions and advice along the way.

Right now, I am running a straight through exhaust so it is LOUD. Still aiming for 105db but not sure how I am going to get there, or even close.

I mentioned a small company in the UK that makes custom exhausts earlier in the topic, were they able to help?

I'm not on my own PC at the moment so can't look the URL up right now

I contacted them and they were due to come back to me and I heard nothing so if you could dig out their contact details I might try again.

MotoT been busy sorting out a few issues including what was not apparent at Silverstone such as a few under front claim finishing details. We have also added a charging point as light though the front clam is, it is not a one man job to remove and I want to be able to attach a trickle charger easily.

Still waiting to hear about the shakedown.

That's what ear plugs are for, plus they are a lot cheaper.

Building a car that is too loud for any race track and for any road use is a little bit like well pointless ...

Stick a muffler on her mate. Has to be done :)

evo do most of their track stuff at an airfield turned into a circuit (properly repaved). Name is Blyton Park, which is approximately five miles North of Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. Still a healthy ~150 miles from London, but the circuit is quickly gaining a reputation for being one of the most lenient when it comes to noise limits.

The circuit is as mentioned quite relaxed on noise limits (see below), which is part of the reason evo do a fair bit of work there. The only db limits they have in print are for MSA governed competitive events.

Thanks for that and it is one along with Anglesea that is on the short list. Just a pain to get to.

Not that we aren't aware of that, hence why we are trying, but want to find the best possible solution.

No. There is something about a F40 that will always make it some sort of benchmark for supercars. Perhaps not in performance, but certainly in presence.
