Soucorp - beautiful car - I'm jealous that you're off to see the Wizard, bring back a brain for my Ferrari crazed head for me....
Arrived on Sunday and spent the last few days with the exceptional family and friends of SRI. What a great place. These are true Ferrari specialists. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe we should close this thread. If people start bringing their mondials from all over the country I may never get mine in.
Since installing Dave's Fuse box we haven't seen nor heard of a check engine light. You should have him look at the sprinter. Dave
Hey Ted, Enjoy the trip, and keep us posted. Give my regards to Dave. Your trailer and truck are cool. Drive safe! Lino
Hi Ted, in Dave Helms' shop - that's my '83 Cabriolet in smokey gray (Grigio) and engine out for the Helms touch. This might be the beginning af Mondial "streaming" into Dave's hands! Another Mondial is in his shop too. I shipped mine from Hawaii as we have relocated to Southern CA for a couple of years. I'm VERY happy with Dave's solutions. Jamie (jamtans)
jamtans, That other Mondial was mine (mondi-t coupe). I was there to work on a window lift but my car has had the Helms touch from awhile ago and everything about the car is now spectacular. You could be right this could (should) be the place where all Mondis go to get "right". After that it's smooth sailing just like yours will be. He knows our cars I believe better than anyone.
I had the pleasure meeting Tman and actually driving his superb Mondial T coupe. Wow oh wow. It brought a smile and even a tear to my face thinking why doesn't mine feel like this and then, oh it will, someday. I didn't think I liked the coupe vs the cab, but I totally get it now. That is one hell of a Mondial! Good job, you've done it right. Jamtans... I also had the pleasure in seeing your Grigio Mondial. I love the color combination and after you're done with what you have planned... That's going to be a very special T for sure. I look forward to meeting you as well.
Valenzo, My car is not a T. It's rumored to be the first Mondial Cabriolet introduced in the US - at the LA Auto Show in 1983. It's a Mondial 3.0 QV Cab. I'm extremely glad Dave is documenting his findings and his work. At this point I have many, many emails and photographs which show the true history of the car. I've asked him to "fix it like it's HIS!" Cheers, jamtans

I heard tonight, my car is done! Wow, a huge amount of work was performed and from what I understand (numerous qualified mountain test runs) it's running perfect and ALL systems are sorted, operational and back to the original equipment. Many new SRI parts and innovations were massaged back in and my Mondial T is now reliable, safe and totally complete. What a difference experience, credibility and personal integrity can do for our cars. I cant wait to fly out next weekend to be reunited and run it through its paces! It's going to be an event with several other Ferrari's joining in on my mountain test drive. Afterwards, we are all celebrating with beer/brauts & bands - http://www.visitestespark.com/includes/calendar-of-events/Autumn-Gold---A-Festival-of-Bands-Brats-n-Beer/1942/ Much to my pleasant surprise, Hank Garfield is flying out to be a part of this monumental effort and the celebration of my finely tuned Mondial. I'm looking forward to his company! I've waited many years for this day, I've spent countless hours and treasure to get here and I'm sincerely grateful to Dave Helms at SRI in making this happen for me. You and your staff, are simply, the best.
Did I lose count? Is this your first or second trip west, with your car on a trailer? Keep us posted on what is to be done to the car, and how it comes out. Are you going to have Helm's modify the fuse box in your car, or has that arleady been done? Have fun, stay warm. If you have a chance send some of that cooler, wet, and rainy weather west.
So happy for you Ted! Remember, good things come to those who wait! And you certainly have waited! Enjoy her to the max! All the best!
Safe travels my friend, wish I can join you, Hank, and Dave out in CO. Keep us posted with the events ! Cheers, Mike
No Charles. It went out there in May (just once) and now its done. This time im using an enclosed transport to bring it home. Although very tempted to just drive it home from CO. I cant believe it snowed there this morning. Does this mean i have to dig out a jacket for this trip?!? ... but i gave up jackets
Not to worry. Boulder didn't get anything that stuck. I got about an inch up at my place at 8000 feet. Not enough to stop me from driving the 328 in this morning. Right now the weather looks to be nice for the next 10 days. Aspens should be in full glory when you get here.
Sounds good Richard. I had fears of being cold again. I gave that sh** up for lifetime lent. See you saturday. Should i bring my axe?
Just bring a lead foot. You aren't going to wanna stop once you get the Mondi wailing up these roads.
