    Hello Marnix!

not too much if one is super rich and spending another million dollars on another car makes no difference in one's life style! I guess I'd rather spend less than a million on this car than $20 million on a 250GTO or $40+ million on a Bugatti 57SC Atalante. Less nervous driving an $885,000 car than a $20M car, eh? For after all, wonderful cars are for DRIVING, not just for admiration or possession!

True. Can't really go wrong with a 412, 355 and 575 either. Especially where the driving is concerned!

Was Harrah only the owner or did he do the cut himself? I thought he was "just" a big ferrari collector and Casino magnate?

If you are referring to 10913 the answer is yes. The transformation was performed by the museum's restoration shops. See Cavallino no122 of 2001. Best regards.

If memory serves me well the Pirelli car was featured in an episode of the TV series 'It takes a thief' starring Robert Wagner.

8727 was built for Mr. (Sergio) Pininfarina himself. Many unique features, including pop-up driving lights.

Oh My! That is one ugly Targa.

For the record the Targa was first used on the Iso Grifo then by Porsche. Porsche threatened lawsuit knowing they had a hit, Piero Rivolta didn't have the sales nor the money to fight and let Porsche have the name.

Not exactly; 'It Takes A Thief' ran from January 1968 - March 1970. Luigi Chinetti Sr bought the car in Switzerland in 1977 from Pirelli's buyer and sold it to a man in Vermont. Jacques Vaucher, the sales person at Chinetti Int'l who introduced me to the car in May 1978 told me that the Vermont owner had sold the car back to Chinetti because he had been stopped and ticketed for 'excessive speed' on I-95 so frequently that his license was in peril. I bought the car from Chinetti in June 1978.
