The Michael, Jean, Ross triumvirate threatened Luca so it had to go.

IMO As of now Ferrari is mostly autonomous with LdM has head of the organization
What Fiat wants to do is bring it under the leadership role of Sergio who will still
head up all the other brands as well as Ferrari. Then Brawn will probably be
given the head of racing operations role only reporting to Sergio.Just speculation on
my part we will have to see what really happens in the coming days.

Actually sort of not really. Not one to defend LdM, all he did was tell MS he had to make a decision by the Italian GP. Michael was dragging his feet, and as the head honcho of Ferrari, from a business perspective, he did the right thing.

It really hurt to say the above. I really do not like LdM.

There's a backstory here that we don't know.
Michael may have been having a Hamlet moment but Luca jumped on it.

Marchionne head of the whole show with mattiachi head of road cars and brawn head of f1 team is about the only way it works. Sergio will be a figurehead as he already has several irons in the fire (relaunching Alfa being one) and Ferrari as a brand is far from being in trouble (thanks to LdM) so it doesn't need to be salvaged like Alfa.

That said LdM leaves Ferrari a much better company than when he found it. IMHO those of you who are desperate to see him go better be careful what you wish for.

Yep and the guy that he brought in won the wdc. Not too shabby imo. Kudos to you for giving credit where it is due.

Right you are. MM is very close with the family that owns Fiat.

Are you guys smoking crack? Marchionne is a key executive running one of the largest industrial companies in the world. The idea that he would run an F1 team is akin to saying Warren Buffet would take a job managing a baseball team that his conglomerate has an interest in

I think people are saying Marchionne would be running Ferrari or the whole group, not running the F1 team.

Mattiachi gets promoted to Ferrari CEO and Brawn becomes F1 team boss.
    Marchionne stays at Fiat.

Sorry, Shakespere was not my thing. What, exactly is a Hamlet moment?

As I said, LdM did the correct management thing. MS was expecting too much of a corporate environment.

Ferrari would have had at least one more WDC if he'd stayed. Probably more.

    A Hanlet moment is indecision.
He left the door open and Luca pushed him through it.

+1 as I also noted earlier. Marchionne already runs Ferrari, in effect, as head of FIAT, or FCA:

Rumours that LdM is leaving now strong in the paddock.

Mattiachi basically confirming it with saying ''I've got nothing to say on the matter'' (which we all know is code for ''I've been told to STFU about this'')
