It was not that much, but let's put it this way: The whole engine was exposed to the elements a bit too long on the front end :)

Over the years I've been involved with the old Maserati V8s, the run of the mill ones from the Ghibli on up, have had substitutions made typically involving some minor machine work. Sorry I can't point to anything specific in your case but you might want to consider an approach like that. We did it because the factory stuff wasn't all that good and the pricing was also excessive.

    Best of luck.

Jacques at Maserati Source has them or modify housing for a 308 seal.

Just for thread completion, the 38mm dia seal is the same as a Ferrari 330 2+2, so available reasonably widely. I just got mine from Maranello spares in the UK. About £90. For 40mm seals there is a supplier in the US listing on eBay as ohyes57. They have a US made seal by Orlando Spring co.

    best to all.

    FYI

This guy rebuilds a lot of foreign water pumps and wiper motors. He's doing my backup water pump from my 84 Biturbo. He rescued my Espada's pump too.
I bet he'd be a source for that seal as well.
