Great trip and write up! thanks for sharing must have been a great experience Is it a coincidence that your Diablo is black/red and Ouzo is also black and has a red neckband? CU later at the HHR Martin
Fantastic trip you did there and great pics! You look very happy on every picture Wolfgang! Beautiful dog also!
@Martin D Thank you, yes an awesome great experience. I bought the neckband for Ouzo in Switzerland and of course "matching-numbers" (set) for the Diablo @Simon, SURPRISES??? No, just Midlife-Crises @omd78 Thank you very much Martin @Forza Ferrari, Thanks Waldo, I`ll forward your compliments to Ouzo. Yeah, happy, very happy and a bit proud but sometimes almost looking dead. The hills/Alpes nealry killed me with now 53 years. Strange experience , but it was dream and I did it.
I think proud you can really be! I can't say I can do the same what you did, not even with 'only' 37 years now ... haha
Hello Carsten, Thank you, all fine as always my friend. What`s up with you my old friend? Location: Denmark/USA/UK Are you a global artist now? Congratulation and I`m still very, very happy & proud for all the original drawings I have got from you. Still in my living room on best spot.
What an amazing trip! Looks like a great time by you and the hound. A few questions, if I may: 1. Can you just camp anywhere? In a few photos, there appears to be a dedicated shelter, but in one place, you look like you pitched your tent near a hotel pool! 2. Did you go down Garda all the way to Sirmione? That is a fantastic medieval village (with Roman ruins) on a peninsula at the very south end of Garda. 3. If you read entire books in English, have you read A Walk Across America by Peter Jenkins (I think)? He travels across the US with his dog. If you can get it, I'm sure you would enjoy it. Thanks for the great pics and narration!
Hello David, you are very welcome and I`ll try to answer your questions: 1.) Can you just camp anywhere? Yes/No Depends on the Country and laws. Germany - yes, Switzerland, Austria - No, Italy - yes. But to be honest, nobody cares about for 1 night. Camping time was only between 08:00 p.m. - 06:00 a.m. NO open fire / BBQ!!! I started every morning very early between 05:00 - 06:00 a.m. cause it was getting very hot in the afternoon. So we did a long break between 02:00 - 06:00 p.m. We spent the afternoon with eating, drinking, swimming and hanging around with the dog. Enjoying the beautiful surrounding and life. But most places were real camping grounds. Sadly the problem was only Italy - on most Camping grounds, Dogs are not allowed!? I was asking for a place / 1 night stay and got always almost the answer: No Dogs! Thats why we decided to camp wild in the nature. 2.) Yes, we drove all the way down over Malcesine, Garda, Bardolino, Lazise, Peschiera to Sirmione. What a wonderful drive all along the largo, awesome great surrounding and Sirmione is an amazing old and time capsuled Little town. 3.) Thanks for the hint, I`ll buy the book by Peter Jenkins. At the end of August we will start for another road-trip. Again my dog Ouzo and I we want to ride with the bicycle from Salzburg (Austria) over the Alps to Trieste (Italy). Thats another well known bicycle route called: "Ciclovia Alpe Adria" Ciclovia Alpe Adria Radweg Alpe Adria ? Radreise-Wiki
I really think you're going to enjoy the book. Please let me know if you do (or don't). Happy travels!
