Too each their own, but whether you want the performance or not, you have to take it if you want something modern elsewhere on the car. The modern bells and whistles that have made the cars so much more usable on a daily basis and vastly more reliable can't be had on the old ones. If I could only have one, it's gotta be the one I can use most. I've never heard anyone call a 458 boring, so even in the event that a 308 or something like that is a bit more fun, it's certainly not a bit better inside or under the skin. That's where the 458, or even a 430, is worlds apart.
Im changing my mind. I would take ronnie's yellow 430. Not sure if it would be enough but dam that's a hot car.
I just bought THIS for under $150k. Line all the recommendations up, take each for a test drive, bet this one gets picked ten times out of ten. Happy shopping. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/454203-my-new-599-a.html
$150K range for me would be an 84' or 85' 308 GTB with some Carobu upgrades and the rest of the dough would go to a Fourintune restored Austin Healy 100/6 in full Florida blue paint. Stu
We are talking about $150,000 cars in this thread...why are you so worked up/worried about an extra $700 per year of ownership to change the belts? (the incremental cost of a belt change is around $2000 every three years). The depreciation hit on most of these is 10x or more that amount per year ($7000 per year would be only 5% on a $140,000 F430 purchase for example). Anyways, the belt change cost is the hair on the end of the tail of the dog when deciding which Ferrari to own/drive/afford.
A rosso/nero F355 spider (for the lady) A Rosso/nero Dino 308 GT/4 I'll also keep my Rosso Mondi QV and the other red toys... Rest is for bigger garage and maintenance (which I'll do myself)
