I took delivery today....I was prepared to be impressed, BUT and as Clarkson would say, this is a BIG BUT.... 350 kms later, I am astounded, speechless and I am still trying to stop giggling!!! This car is pure magic. Like nothing I have ever driven on the road before (Bugatti, Pagani, Mclaren included) The front end is awe-inspiring. I took it on mountain roads (seriously twisty) and it just goes where you look. The brakes have real bite and are as impressive as the rest. Between curves, changing at 6,000 rpm (because you think that you should!!) you top over 200 km/h ... and there is another 3250 rpm to come!!! The traction out of corners is unimaginable and it is comfortable too!! Eats bumpy roads for breakfast without upsetting the balance. Then put it in race and the gearbox comes alive!! Flavours of GTO / XX... Response is instantaneous and like nothing else out there. And then it is simply GORGEOUS. Every time you look at it you discover something new, something different. Sculptural. And then the sound, oh my.... Can't wait for tomorrow.... As for the question about Le Mans: Simply put, it was a real privilege to be there, to race there. It is without a doubt, the Mother of all races, difficult beyond imagination, amazing beyond imagination too.. I am going back next year!!
congratulations happy Peter to know your first impressions has its wheel. I hope that we will quickly have new photographs as well as intérior. did you take option harness 4 points??
Thanks for the feedback Peter. Enjoyed reading that and great to see you enjoy your car this much. It must be a blast to take the LaFerrari out on mountain roads. Also interesting to hear that the gearbox has GTO / XX flavors when put in race mode. All adds to the experience and appreciation one gets from a car. Drive it well, hard and please keep dropping us a line with your impressions every once and a while. Congratulations Peter. All the best. M
Dreaming feeling! Thanks for sharing such a pleasure Have you plan some events during which we could see it in France or Swiss?
Hi Manu, I probably saw your LaFerrari. It is not on pictures but in video from test drive (Ferrari LaFerrari On The Road - YouTube 0:15-0:31 sec in video). It is black with carbon fibre roof, dark grey wheels, yellow brake calipers and also carbon fibre fuel cap. LOOKS GREAT! And PLEASE, forget to my words about LaFerarri colors, because I wrote stupidities And if I can ask, when you visit Nurburgring and which lap time you can create (sub 7 min)? From text it looks that very soon will your LaFerrari delivered, all the best and lots of lucky and very fast km in your LaFerrari!
Unless he has a huge talent or is a seasoned race car driver with many many laps on the 'Ring I doubt he (or any other LaF/P1/918 owner for that matter) will get close to 7 minutes dead or lower. Have you ever driven the 'Ring...? Don't get held up with those lap times the manufacturers publish. There are so many variables to be taken into account, hence why I think Nürburgring lap time comparisons are silly. The factories use drivers with so much talent and experience combined with a clear circuit, in addition to either slicks or custom-cut semi's. Ignore the times. Nothing to be won by spending time and effort trying to prove a point that really doesn't matter in the real world.
Lexan side windows are an option on LaF in certain markets. Just because the car has lexan side windows does NOT mean it's an XX mule.
Sorry, but I asked Manu. For me is not important lap time on track, compare cars only with lap times on track is stupid. I love LaFerrari for design, power, beauty and everyone detail on LaFerrari, therefore is for me absolutly best car in th world in ALL! BUT I asked manu for lap time, therefore because he go with 458 speciale 7:36 and therefore I ask if he will try go with LaFerrari in "Ring" sub 7 minute. I just asked!
