Is this baloney? Ive never seen a BB in a cannonball movie, that said I haven't watched one since I hit puberty. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is bs! I seem to remember the Dean Martin/Sammy Davis team driving a 308/328 car, not a BB, and the 2 babes in the movie driving a Lambo countach!
Lambo CT (2) Ferrari 308 (the car that Dean & Sammy drove) Ferrari 246 Other than those, I can't think of any other Italian exotics used in those films
I had that model, its ok but not like a Fujimi model. The first Cannonball had the Countach, 308 Dean Martin Sammy Davis, a gold 246GT no BBs. Might have been a Japanese remake or Movie.
Lost in translation I'd say! I live in Tokyo and this is common and the endless humor it provides. Note in Cannonball Run 2 a Mitsubishi Starion was used. Why was it called a Starion? Urban legend says that claims that it was intended to be stallion, common Engrish! Or some star of Orion but I prefer the urban legend. Off to drive my Fellali 512TRu now.
It's been said on this site that the sound the Cannonball Countach's engine made in the movie was dubbed. It may be the sound of the 4.4L flat 12 of a 365 GT4/BB. That's as close as you can get.
Was it used in speed zone? 2 chick's driving it, I seem to remember a scene where Alissa Milano was test driving a pickup and the salesman told her to pass the Ferrari and the women took umbrage and blow by the truck doing triple digits at which point Milano said 'wow, I wonder if they make a truck.' That's all I remember, I was maybe 10 when I last saw it. ..
to their defense, I don't see anything on the box that says Cannonball Run. But then again, I can't read the Asian writing.
Was a boxer ever run int he real cannonball? I know there was a daytona win in the first one, and the record was set in a XJs a few years later. Must have been the longest a XJS ran without self imolating.
Actually, that may supposed to be the car from Sammy Haggar's video (I can't drive 55), not the cannonball. I think in the cannonball movie they spray painted a 1 in front of the 55, they didn't X it out, which they did in the Haggar video.
It's a box for a slot car set, no? Looks like they're freely appropriating everything popular to 12yr old boys at the time.
