The original aerolithe chassis 57331 has been found with its original engine, transmission and suspension components several years ago. I held the firewall with the original tags still intact in my hands this weekend.

Wasn't allowed to take pics or mention where it was. The body is long gone but he has everything from the chassis that was aerolithe 1. #57331

Some people said the elektron body was a PITA even when the car was finished "the metal tries to go back to it's original form"... so I'm thinking they discarded the body after the shows because it was going fast in a bad state.

+1 a hugely important find if verified, although as various old car experts would say, always get "as found" photo's.......

I am of the opinion that an incorrect chassis is used, the driver seat is too high, an S-chassis is approximately 10cm lower ...

I always think this is about Ettore's airplane

Pagani is the true Bugatti of today

Imagine what a Pagani plane would look like :)

I'll have to ask Horacio to think about it when I see him again

The proper information wasn't available when they were made, probably.

    Two theories

Kruta/ Simon - Aerolythe (x2) were 57103a and 57331 on Type 57 chassis and their bodies were fitted to 57-374 and 57-453? on Type 57S chassis?

Laugier - Aerolythe (x1) 57331 on Type 57 chassis and the following Atlantic(s) had nothing to do with the Aerolythe except for the styling cues used in their design.....

See the link for much more detail. A fantastic article by Julius Kruta

the theory Kruta/Simon is not credible, the chassis number has been changed, there was only one Aerolythe

    engine 226S > 57331 = 57103
