I guess I should have actually looked at the current dead pedal space before I asked my original question.... I have a MY '14 looks like this, perhaps the holes will line up well without drilling at all. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Is the dead pedal still available? When I click on the link you posted it does not allow me to place an order.

Link says $0.00 price and I don't see a buy option.

Also, as someone else asked, do we just drill into the OEM rubber piece that is there now?

As soon as I get confirmation on the next batch size and arrival date, I'll turn it back "on" on our website. At the moment, I didn't want folks to place orders then get disappointed because of a delay in product availability.

Received mine today. Have not tried to install yet but, it appears that the holes do line up with the oem allen head screws.

I installed mine today. I removed the rubber dead pedal and used the the same mounting points. I used 6mm stainless steel machine bolts that matched the OEM bolts used on the break pedal. Worked out perfect!

That looks great. Did the stainless screws come with the pedal or were they purchased separately?

The ones that come with it are to small and to short. I got them at a local hardware shore that carried metric machine bolts. They are 6mm bolts and they are the same length as the ones used on the original rubber dead pedal.

I wish I saw your post before I installed mine! After I removed the rubber pedal I realized the bolts didn't fit, so I reinstalled the rubber pedal and screwed the metal one onto it. Thanks for sharing the size of the bolt, I will go to the hardware store this weekend so I can re-install more cleanly.

Hey Ricambi America product specialist, why aren't you shipping the correct screws with the footrest? Please update the product with the proper screws. Thanks.

UPDATE - So I contacted Daniel and asked if he could please send me the correct 6mm screws. Here's his response:

"The hardware does fit, as supplied. Where it "doesn't fit" is when you use the same mounting holes as the rubber slab. If you mount in the upper left and lower right corners, the supplied hardware does work. Nonetheless, I understand you are not happy with the product -- so please return it for a refund."

What a load of BS. Mine is going back.

I offered you the alternate hardware as soon as we get our next batch. I offered you a complete refund for the product. Which part of my reply qualifies as "BS" ?

I asked you to ship the alternative hardware and told you I was willing to wait the 3-4 weeks, if necessary. Your reply is above. You never agreed to send the alternative hardware. I can send you the email correspondence again or reproduce here if you would like.

The BS refers to your explanation which states that you shipped the appropriate hardware that fits. It certainly does not replace / fit the oem hardware.

I appreciate your offer to return for full credit as this was the only option previously given. If you are now offering to send me the correct hardware, as originally requested, I would certainly prefer this. Let me know.

You guys are unbelievable. Daniel ships you a working product and then someone on the forum discovers a slightly better way to mount it, so you write to Daniel asking him why he didn't think of that. Are you serious? That logic really makes sense to you?

Instead of complaining, why don't you go to the hardware store and just spend the 50 cents for two screws? God forbid you're so inconvenienced.

So you would prefer to drill new holes in your firewall to attach this plate, rather than have the product shipped with screws that fit the existing holes? On a $120 dead pedal that costs so more than $10 to manufacture? Are you serious?

He was told he would get the screws, but would have to wait. This pedal was designed not knowing the newer model years had these existing mounting points (the early MY cars are just glued on).

And you question that the price (actually $115) may be out of line or something?? The other sponsor here is charging over $250, and it doesn't look nearly as good!

Go look at Novitecs pricing if you want to question pricing at all. $1,380 for a set of 4 plastic side markers tinted black!!!!!! On something that's maybe 5 cents to produce.... geez

I'm not questioning the price and I don't want to get into a pissing match. My point was that the gross margins should be very good on this part and would support including a couple of additional screws so that it could be installed either by using the existing screw holes in the firewall or by drilling new holes with smaller screws. I'd rather not drill holes in my firewall if I don't have to.

I am sorry the issues of these screws has become so toxic. The dead pedal has been pulled from our catalog, effective this morning. When the next batch of inventory arrives, and different screws are available, we'll gladly send them to any customer who asks.

This is a new product, and we simply did not recognize the additional 2mm depth needed on certain 458's. Indeed, the material shape and 'cut' is very simple. Obtaining the proper surface finish and coloring was excruciatingly complex and time consuming. The mounting hardware was not adequately considered. It was, quite simply, an error.
