D.S. just got a line on a 365 GT/4 here in the bay area that has on it....... wait for it.... a few hundred miles on it. Once I see it, I will post details with pixs. B3
Hi Dave A winemaker friend of mine sent me the attached link this morning... http://www.wine.co.za/news/news.aspx?NEWSID=11801&Source=Newsfeed seems like Asara are the first in South Africa with the cojones to take this one on and have, this week, released the first batch. I've ordered a half case (R55/bottle is about $7.20) and will let you know...would you like me to send you a bottle ? best! Mike
You bet I would! But it would cost a TON, so you better save your cash. Thanks SO MUCH for the offer. Let me know how it is.
I imported 17803 in 1984. DOT/EPA was done at Auto Keizer in the Netherlands. I originally purchased the car in London. Of course it had RHD. Sold it to a fellow in CT. in 1989. Really enjoyed that car.
17369 and 17349 live in Sydney Australia. Both 365 GT4 2+2. 17349 now unfortunately is only for parts and is a shell.
So we are not any nearer an answer? I guess it could well be far less than half of the total. Many cars were broken for the engine to fit in conversions, and since it is an expensive car to fix, many would have been written off for minor insurance claims. I would not be surprised to see these cars suddenly being regarded as rare, even for Ferraris. Sometimes everything makes sense, afterwards, yet very few can see it while it is happening. So as a guess, I will say maybe 1000 still exist out of a total of 2909(?).
For what it's worth, I have done quite a bit of research on RHD 412s, and have found evidence for the current or recent existence of 70% of the cars (5 speed and autos combined) - and of the remaining 30%, there's only one that I know for sure has been scrapped. Regarding only 5 -speed RHD 412s, I have pretty good evidence that at least 80% are still around. This may - or may not - be a good proxy for LHDs as well. I am now starting to research RHD 400s as well - and I would expect a much lower percentage of vehicles still in existence, for the reasons Kaiser states. It will take me a few months to come up with the results. All help appreciated (I am doing my homework gleaning info from this forum and other relevant sources). Kaiser, is your 400 a RHD? If so, serial number appreciated.

Alastair, I have still have months of research ahead of me, but thus far I can add the following: 21131 - azzurro with crema and black - registration SJU 658R - UK - on SORN (ie registered as off road, could be off road for the winter or a (much) longer period) 21509 - silver - registration TJF 630R - UK - on SORN 22499 - blue - registration YGY 127S - UK - on SORN 23667 - dark blue with crema - registration XPE 580S - UK - on SORN 24439 - verde pino met - likely to be registration WPJ 929S (featured Classic Cars magazine Dec 2005, there's also a webpage on it that I can't find right now), currently licensed in UK 24605 - no details 24703 - blu ribot metallic, tan - auctioned in 1994 in UK - no further details. 24797 - HLH 142T - unlicensed since 2002, engine used in a 330/P4 recreation 26265 - grey - WOW 637T - UK - SORN 27129 - gold - UK - unlicensed since 1996 27703 - dark blue, tan with black, reg DEB 200V - UK - featured "Clarkson on Ferrari" book - on SORN. I have used quite a few sources for the above, and happy to hear of any corrections/additions. Clearly a few of the above are likely to be "dead". Will let you know when I make more progress. David
Nice work David It will never be an exact science but this is really good info, 24439 sounds like an addition to the 4 UK cars confirmed. Apologies just to check presuming these are 400GT (carbueretted) manual gearbox RHD cars? Regards Alastair
That's right, all 400GTs - carb manual RHD's (though as i said it is not impossible that one of them that I have listed doesn't meet the criteria, as my sources could be incorrect). Just to add some colour, here is what I think is 24439 (definitely a manual anyway). I plan to research RHD 365 GT4 2+2s as well, but that will be some months away... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ramboy, I spent some time tracking these cars down and their owners. I can confirm most of the cars you have listed are still on the road. I have images of some of them but the owners didn't want them on a posted.
Waw can you be more specific? Ramboy's list shows all bar one are on SORN meaning off the road and that's if they even exist at all! Is your information more up to date? What are the confirmed vin numbers and if they are on the road cant we check through the dvla? In the interest in being realistic with our estimates here. Regards Alastair
27703 also likely still exists, here it is at Silverstone in September 2012 Ferrari 412 in Silverstone, ExoticsOnRoad.com The information I posted regarding being on SORN or licensed is up to date info from the DVLA. Being on SORN would normally mean the car still exists - though in any condition from a car being dismantled for parts, or converted to a GTO, through to a rolling restoration or a concours car in winter hibernation. I am still hunting for more uptodate references for these cars eg classified ads on the internet or featured in my old car mags. I am of course curious as to the s/n of the blue/tan GT that EVOeng mentions I have missed.
Attached a drop down of f-register for Type "400" and Comments "RHD" (GT and Auto or Manual are not always specified in that database). A few more records appear which could be 400 RHD Manual. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I too have seen the number 27, though I believe that's only UK delivered RHD cars. I have read somewhere else that there were 29 in total RHD cars. We have 24 cars - including EVOeng's addition - so if the records are correct, there are not many missing. I will keep hunting...
