I would be reserved on using nail polish remover because it might contain Acetone. Acetone will attack the plastic because it is a very aggressive solvent.

I would start with lighter fluid, such as the type you would use in a pocket lighter. We use it around our shop for a lot of stuff and it is the safest to start with.

If the logo os screen printed then mineral spirits might do it, which is also pretty mild as solvents go. If it is a hot stamped logo then it is may be bonded to the sub-plastic pretty well and they may be very difficult to remove.

In that case, some custom layered overlays might be an acceptable solution.

If you'd need assistance getting some made, please PM and I'll have one of the guys in the shop make up what you want and I'll mail them over.

Thanks and I may be back to you-appreciated.

Right now we are hopeful we can remove as I just want a very simple clean uncluttered dash looking more like this.

I once ordered these for a similar application:
Small Black Bezel - Car Builder Solutions - Kit Car Parts, Tools and Accessories

They are very small and clean!

CBS also has other styles for sale.

    Thanks for the lights tip.

Whilst waiting to get the manifolds mounted, sorting out the 'new' OZ's which we have now popped the tyres, stripped, filled and about to be clear coated.

Why not demount the tires first?

We don't need to make the inside of the rims any better, all that matters is the outward facing side is truly perfect, the rest is good enough, mostly unseen and does not need my perfectionist attention at the risk of damaging either the tyres or rims.

With your permission Tim I would also like to add that damaging a wheel becomes more of a concern with multiple removals especially with todays highly stiff low profile tires.

OK! So I just finished reading all 96 pages and I have one word to say, "STUNNING"!

Thank you Tim for this wonderful journey into what is in my opinion, the best restoration I have ever followed/witnessed/read about. I'm just in awe.

Please add me to the growing list of fans who would love to receive the book about this incredible machine.

Belt, braces and whatever comes next. I was hoping they would be fitted by now but I should have suspected MT would want to double check the checkers. I promise no more manifold pics until fitted.

Well I lied. Another pic not fitted.

MT being MT, given the seriousness and liability of this saga, we had another look. Amazingly, it turns out there is still some material which seems to have puddled and melted onto the walls and given there is soot in the pipes, it may not be that well stuck albeit everything so far has failed to displace it. The worry is that under conditions which we cannot simulate it might detach, either damage a turbo or stick to a blade and unbalance or whatever, so it is not something to be chanced.

A lesson to be learnt and it looks like back again to Zircotec. Now not impressed and somewhat pissed.

Couldn't you run a flexible honing brush through the pipes? Wouldn't that take care of any residue? I know you want the people who made the mistake to fix it, but at this point I would not trust them.

It says they are sending it back to Zircotec because there is still material in there.
