Does someone have the old R and T that has an article called "Dino of the North"? It's pretty funny. It's about a cross country trip from Chicago to LA back when Dino's were just another used sports car. Good read if you can find it.

The "Dino: Car of the North" article is in the March 1985 issue of R&T. I'm afraid my computer is much too old and slow to post a 7-page article here. It's a good read.

I actually have a treasure trove of Dino articles stashed in my company website somewhere, I'll go dig around and see if I can post the link later here.

Thanks JememyJon for posting the R&T article. Interesting the photos credits go to Jeffery R Zwart. Jeff Zwart is a critically acclaimed racing and automotive photographer, a commercial film director, and a multiple winner and record holder of the fearsome Pikes Peak International Hillclimb.

    All the best,

    Tom

I'll ask Jeff Zwart about it. I grew up with Jeff in the same SoCal neighborhood. Have known him since '67/'68. Here you can see some of his latest and past commercials http://www.radicalmedia.com/Commercials/Jeff-Zwart/Commercials. Jeff is also famous for his Porsche commercials and Pikes Peak racing http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=les%3B&gs_nf=1&pq=jeff%20zwart%20radical%20media&cp=13&gs_id=2t&xhr=t&q=jeff+zwart+porsche&pf=p&sclient=tablet-gws&tbo=d&oq=jeff+zwart+po&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=682ab996b03bf19a&biw=1024&bih=672 .

I don't like the conclusion in the original article, that the Dino is "driveway sculpture" good to look at but not drive. :(

time has proved that not entirely correct, the Dino remains a light weight & lithe car, which with regulations imposed since, we've not seen since! :)

I have both R&T mags, and still read them occasionally. The Dino in the north adventure inspired me, in 1985, to have one of my GT's resprayed in silver. It stayed that way for fifteen years. Great memories! Thanks for the posts! Fred

based on how he describes his appendages, I would guess he is over 6'3" and totally the wrong shape for a Dino. Horses for courses and all that
