I had my girlfriend sit in the passenger seat to see if the location would bother here and she seemed to think it is close enough to the seat that her legs wouldn't rub on it..

Then I have no idea how this thing mounts under the seat. I see it has two holes in the bracket. How in the world do you attach it to the seat (that must go back and fro) without taking the seat out?

The 2 holes should line up with the 2 seat track guides. I I remember correctly there are 2 nuts (one on each track) that you need to mount the extinguisher bracket on.

yes---the gtb's don't have those nuts you are referring to, but they are on the Spiders----user bst1 recently did the bracket on his Spider, maybe pm him for the exact location...he said he took his seat out to make it easier but it is not necessary

The only complaints I have heard is upon entry and exit. I agree, the knee bolster is plenty high to keep ones legs clear.

Just a public service reminder that having an automatic fire extinguisher in your engine bay is better than not having one: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/general-automotive-discussion/430137-paul-walker-fast-furious-died-wreck.html

If its a decent product, maybe we should look for a group buy to bring the cost down. Ill give them a call to see if something can be worked out.

The Fire Foe seems to be the simplest in terms of an automatic system. Just a tube that melts and releases in case of a fire. Just need to get the price down.

I have a message out to the sales rep about a possible group buy of 15 - 30 units. Waiting to hear back from them.

    Do these go off automatically?

I don't have option to quote a previous response.

Yes, it goes off automatically at 175F.

The West Marine Tank type extinguisher looks interesting but larger and more cumbersome that the Fire Foe Tube but it gives me some pricing to discuss with the sales rep. I don't know how they can justify double for a 1 use plastic tube vs. a brass tank system.
