A good guy. Loved Fast and the Furious series. It came out right when I was graduating college and finally able to afford "something fun". He was my friend's first cousin and was a really good guy
that's exactly what i was thinking, i think they were coming up Hercules St. super fast and maybe tried to brake right where that sign says 15 mph turn, and the brakes must of locked up and got them sideways, but the car is so destroyed. I was wondering if they hit anything else, because just hitting a tree and catching on fire seems like it would cause a lot less damage
They took out the street light pole as well according to witnesses. A couple of AP photos of the wrecked car were posted here on the DailyMail site, along with a link to a bystander video from YT: Fast & Furious star Paul Walker dead in fiery car wreck: Actor killed after Porsche GT driven by his friend crashed into pole | Mail Online >8^| ER
According to one story, "Paul Walker was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort and he was taking friends out for drives in his new Porsche GT. The accident happened during one of the test drives." Paul Walker Dies: 'Fast And Furious' Actor Dead At 40 In Horrific Car Accident [CONFIRMED] : Entertainment : Latin Times
So Sad. RIP to both Roger and Paul. I sold Roger a SLS a couple years ago, a very kind person. Prayers sent to all families involved.
RIP. Also a reason I tell people to slow the f down even when I'm a passenger. I had a huge incident as a passenger in a wrx about 10 years ago. Can happen to anyone.
I know the road that he crashed on really well and there's no way reckless driving wasn't involved. It's something like a 35mph speed limit through there, with turns that come up on you really fast. It's a shame.
I don't know if you guys have seen the picture yet but a new one just surfaced of a massive fireball and some red car pieces... chilling. As a 19 year old I can definetly say it is like loosing a huge car role model for kids of my era. RIP
So Sad, RIP... He will be missed I read another article, car was not his, he was a passenger BigEasy. Both were killed, however. RIP to driver too.
Incredibly sad. As a Santa Barbara local I can say he was one of the most down-to-earth people and loved by many. A true car guy - RIP Paul.
Yeah, I've lost quite a few friends and acquaintances over the years to this kind of accident. Some were enthusiast involved, others were just accidents. End result is still the same.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Tragic news and sympathies to Paul's daughter in particular. It seems he was certainly loved by all who knew him off screen. Sympathies to the driver's family also. Very sad.
Very sad, sounds like he was a passenger, a friend was driving who was also killed. Be careful out there folks, keep the holidays safe.
The shop they came from and own is only a few hundred yards away, walking distance. No doubt they've raced that "track" more than once.
While I have no idea how fast they were going, looking at that curve coming from Kelly Johnson going into what turns into Hercules, it's pretty clear to observe from satellite shots from above how any number of high-performance cars could quite easily get well into triple-digits on Kelly Johnson... and then you hit that curve, and it's "Oh, ****!" if you're not prepared for it.
