You know THAT might be the way to do it. That would save everyone the hassle of mailing, paying for a mailing tube, etc.

I'll have to check buy I think the file is something like 50 meg so emailing won't work, but that still isn't a deal breaker.

I picked up this 400 automatic on eBay years ago. Luckily is the same blue/tan as my 400i. On the bottom it says
"Made in France by AMR - Paris
    Ferrari 400 Automatic
    Ref 002 10/78"

Sorry for the iPhone photos, my cameras are already packed in the 360 for an event we're going to this weekend. Oh, and need to get in my display case and dust sometime soon, sorry for the dust.

    Dave,

Thanks for checking into getting the copies made.

You could probably have it uploaded onto Dropbox or similar web based data storage site and sell the password for access.

You're welcome. The scan they did yesterday has a shadow in it. This morning, after I see the insurance adjuster who is going to tell me how much the insurance is going to pay to have my jeep fixed after a tree fell on it, I'm going back to have it rescanned.

    Ok, here is the deal............

I had it re-scanned. It is clean and looks really good.

Now we all know each other, we all help each other, and I don't want to be in the "engine cut-away print" selling business. Having said that I know you guys can be pretty persuasive and generous. So if you feel like you want to do something for me then I'll tell you I really like the martini's at Fleming's Steakhouse in Houston. But that is up to you and other than covering my costs anything else is not required.

You can get one of these 2 ways:

    1) I had one printed this morning on good quality glossy stock like the original and it turned out really well. $20 to print it. Add $6 for postage and another $6 for a mailing tube and $2 for your share of the cost to scan it and you get $34.

    2) If you want a digital copy and then make your own arrangements to have it printed I can do that also. I uploaded it to my site a while ago. Figure you have to throw 2 or 3 dollars at it to cover a portion of what I paid to have it scanned. It is a 23meg file so be prepared for it to take a bit to download.

    Everyone happy with this?

Just PM me and let me know what you want.

Here is the print I had done this morning.

So the other day, I did an eBay search worldwide for Ferrari 400 die cast, and ran into this curious number. Its made by DyDo out of Japan and is 1/64 scale (hot wheels size). It has a metal body and comes partially assembled, as any toy manufacturer who wants to sell Ferrari licensed products outside the exclusive Mattel agreement must do since there's no direct competition with Mattel.

It is pretty detailed and cool. I have gone ahead and bought no less than 35+ more Ferraris of all models and years in this size from Japan mostly and will showcase them once I have received, assembled, and organized them on all on a special display case.

DyDo is some sort of coffee making company in Japan and these models are made by Kyosho, just in different promotional package for DyDo. It is an excellent series. I have only 412 in silver from Kyosho bat also do have around dozen of their similarly excellent Maseratis.

I was going to wait until I got this framed to show it to you guys but I figured why not...

Andy Solomon is a photographer who does a series called AutoChrome. He has been on Leno and published a book of his work.
Welcome to Autochrome & Fine Art Photography by Andrew Solomon

Jay Leno's Garage - Jay's Book Club: Autochrome | Book Club

He saw my car at an event I was in recently and asked if he could take a few photos for his next project.

I asked him to leave my euro plate in for personalization's sake but it won't be there when he puts it in his new book.

I think it is pretty cool.

(sorry I can't make copies; I gave him my word)

That is very cool! I would love to have one like that of my car to hang in my someday-to-be-built garage-ma-hal.

Although not specific to our series model cars, I grew up a very big fan of motorsports racing and still continue as such to this day... At first, when I saw the wheel for sale in this website's classifieds, I couldn't justify its cost. But the more I looked at it, the more I ended up wanting to have it because chances are there won't be another one for sale ever, anywhere, again.

When I pulled the trigger, I had nowhere to put it other than in my office (law), but once I became single, it has a proper place as one of the most bit*hin' coffee tables there is and a conversation piece to gearheads everywhere, IMHO...

P.S. - funny story about the Grey Goose display bottle next to it in the first pic, which is 2 feet high, but suffice it to say that lots of alcohol was involved and I may not have necessarily asked if I could borrow it from where it was!

I have a serious 1/18 diecast collection of 50's-90's european racing machinery consisting mostly of Porsche's and Ferrari's that adorn my office, which now looks like a toy store.

Being that there is no such thing as a 1/18 model of our cars, I went searching for 1/43 to complement the Mattel green 412 pictured elsewhere in this thread, but I guess I got carried away a bit.

Below, I am showing you pics of what I consider would be a very comprehensive model variation of the 365/400/412 line. For aesthetic purposes, I started with a couple of concept cars:

    1) the 1975 365 GT4 2+2 Fly Studio closed top and; 2) its brother, the targa version - both cars from 2 different manufacturers.

    3) the 1977 Felber Michelotti 365 GTC/4 Shooting Brake
    4) another Felber Shooting Brake - the 1975 365 GT 2+2

    5) a normal 365 GT4 2+2
    6) a 400GT

    7) the 1980 Pinin Quattroporte concept car
    8) the 1983 Michelotti 400i Meera S concept car

    9) 400i Banham droptop
    10) 400i cabriolet

    11) Australian stretch limousine

    12) 400i
    13) 412

    14) 412 cabriolet
    15) 1987 412 Scaglietti concept car

I then had them enclosed in a 1/24 case by Carney Plastics and very pleased with my wall art located in an area I see every day, so that I may enjoy them all that much more. I am looking for 2 elusive models - the 400i Le Marquis and the 412 Shooting Brake but besides those, as far as variations go, I think I got most of them and believe its looks pretty neat!

Continuing on from before, I have added some more wickedly cool models to my 1/43 collection of 365/400/412's... Its been very challenging to get all of these but at the same time, very rewarding to be able to admire all of them, made by different manufacturers while showcasing various levels of detail. I have acquired 4 more since my initial post on them and unsure that there are any more models out there left that are not already included within this collection. I do believe that these models pretty much encompass all variations of these cars and, for which they make a model out of in this scale. I will still be on the look out for any different ones, although I believe no more will likely be forthcoming.

    16) a custom one-off of the infamous red 412 Pickup
    17) the Pavesi blue 400i Cabriolet

    18) the Jankel designed 400 Le Marquis
    19) the Ferrari 400 (used as a donor car) HP GTi

    Pretty friggin' cool, no?
