This is by far the best resto thread i have ever read, on any forum! The car is looking awesome so far and will be beautiful when finished. Mart.
?? A few more pics for the weekend now we have the front clam just about complete with new splitter, soft mounted but at least in position(some black detailing still needed on the brake ducts inlets). There is something about the subtle differences in the LM that make it look like a 21st Century car and the standard car look very dated. Cannot quite put my finger on it, but I think it is to do with the lights and extra clam width? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tim I just meant that your F40 is now basically new and in that regard better than the original was. I am one of your biggest supporters, I salute you sir! All the best, Gregg

Meanwhile back at the other end of the car, the rear clam is getting close to completion which will then render the illusion that we are further ahead than it appears as it will all be coming off again. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Looking at the photos of the car coming together is like seeing an F40 for the first time again. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing experience with all of us! Greg A
Seeing the red with the silver and the black, simply sex! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! I can't wait to start seeing some assembled engine pics before it goes in the car!!! Alex
This has been a very special thread and I've followed it from the beginning. It's nice to see it almost completed. I must say, this has been one of the fastest restorations I've ever heard of. That shop deserves high praise. I think that would be a 10 year project here in America. Congrats and thank you for posting the progress. e
Many thanks for the supportive comments which are much appreciated as I try to navigate this maze whilst having chosen to post detailed progress to a knowledgeable audience, always a bit if a worry as easy to take a wrong turn. I understand why the Russians kept their space program away from the oxygen of publicity. I agree that Mototechnique have done a brilliant job in a relatively short time and they have really taken ownership of the project and consequently their enthusiam shows in their workmanship. I could not recommend a shop more highly as not only knowledgeable and skilful but a great team to work with.
Very very good work...when you finish it and if you are too tired, send your F40 To Spain and i will test drive it for you XD XD
Assembly now well underway on the rear clam. Restored lights etc in and now just the wing to restore. Apologies for the out of focus shot, but you get the idea.
