Yike, which one? lot 247 was 5471 red with incorrect engine; 131 was 5537, Sera Blue high cal restoration. Big spread in estimates where $1.26 just about exactly splits the difference. Either very high result for 5471 or low end result for 5537...

Does anyone know the story with this car? The reason I ask is in another thread we are looking for Fritz D'Orey's old berlinetta with a split windshield. Perhaps this could be the car. Probably not, though.

So are these numbers all towards the higher end of the range especially for the plus $1,000,000 cars?

The market based at least on this weekend seems to be roaring ahead. There are to me a lot of surprises, the major one the 275 Nart. i saw no on predicting it would hit a price anywhere near $27.5M all up. However the other surprise to me was the Ferrari 500 TRC 0690 MDTR reaching $3.08M out of the buyers pocket. Absolutely amassing for this car, although it did look nice.

Things have really gone up, even from 10 years ago.

When I started looking at Ferrari values back in 2003, a nice 500 Mondial was for sale at $900,000 US. Daytona coupes were 115k, 330GTC and 246GTS were both around 80k, 275GTS was 160k, Lussos 180k, 275GTB2 at 240k, 275GTB/4 350k, but a damn GTO was still freakin' 9mil !

I hate to be a pedant but this car is not a NART Spider as I'm sure you know and has nothing to do with the North American Racing Team. In the interests of not confusing less knowledgeable people who stumble on your post, who may understandably be falsely led into believing that a genuine 275 GTB/4 NART Spider is worth a fraction of what it really is, please could you edit your post to say that it is a converted to convertible 275 GTB. Thank you.

Could anyone confirm whether the result (incl. premium ?) shown above is accurate or possibly typo ?

Just based on my own observations, I think the buying public has been numbed to the numbers over the last 5 years. A while back, a multi-million dollar car sale would bring wild applause and enthusiasm from the viewing public. Now, 7 figure numbers are more or less expected, and you've got to get up into 8 figures before the gasping starts.

Can anyone tell if this car stayed in the US or if it's headed back to Europe? Would also be curious *who* the new owner is, if available (though certainly understand if not).

    Thanks.

Hopefully, it will be accepted for the MM Storica, again!

Pic from twenty-five years ago, before I drove it through the factory gates!

Hahaha! No, Paul hydroplaned off in the blinding rain heading up the San Marino hill...

He drove the MM Storica SOLO in 1987 and with his wife the next two years. I just kept it going...

My work with the knock-off hammer after the off was not pretty, but he finished and I got the chance to drive afterwards!

The car is too pretty, now... ;)

Well in that case he must have been pretty fast, because it is a very steep hill. The "all-cars-clutch-and cooling-nightmare" Done it three times during the MM's but all three times I thought of forgetting San Marino and drive on......A lot entrants did BTW.

Very nice car, and hammering the fences away from the wheel is always nasty....but I see smiles all over. Very nice car!

    ciao

Around 1970 or 71, certain Ferraris bringing FIVE figures would get people to gawk.

I was surprised the Tdf didn't reach 8 figures, 0677 supposedly sold privately for $11M earlier this year, but of course that's due to the Gendebien history...... Ed Niles had that car at one point in the 70s, wonder if he has any pics?

Also never expected to see a Tdf outbid a 375MM, and how did a road A6G-2000 Frua Spy outbid a A6GCS Competition? Never would've guessed it!
