Too bad about the wrong body shape (especially the rear).

Does this car have a outside fuel cap? I thought all the competition 275's had them but I couldn't spot it in the video.

No. The fuel cap is in the boot as with the normal 275 GTB. Shame.

It is. I always thought that was a great detail in Comp cars.

Not that I dislike the non-competition ones hehe

This car should have the same shape as 09051
Someone paid too little for the restoration.
Next owner can rebody it again for the x time.

I was embarrassed the first time I tried to fuel a 275 looking for the gas cap. And I thought '56-57 Chevys had them hidden.

I was about to accuse all of you of being overly critical "origiweenies" until I clicked on the pics...

    Touché. Clearly.

That said, I'm getting increasingly comfortable with the notion that comp cars and other vehicles that've lived hard lives have earned their right to "non-correctness." There is, after all, beauty to the cars that are less than perfect for a reason. Even the incorrect rebodies of, say, the 90's look a bit better in the light of a history of hard use.

If you've seen 09027 in the flesh you wouldn't question the comments on its shape. It's that obvious in real life. Especially in a line of other 275s at the Tour Auto (including other GTB/Cs).

OK. I'm not disagreeing with you. Just trying to get the facts. I think we can forget about comparing the Long Nose 275 GTB/C to any other 275 GTB variant as they are all clearly different. There will also have been variances between the bodies of the 12 LN 275 GTB/Cs when the cars were new also. Perhaps there are some pictures of the car in period, before its first rebody? What in your opinion is actually wrong with the shape of 09027?

Great piece on a few of the cars in Motorsport Magazine. Andrew Frankel drives the D-Type, 250S, Birdcage and the 904/6.

    Not argueing either :)

The rear hangs too low. Same for the nose but not as obvious.

    A perfect mould of a 1966 275 GTB/C is available :)
Used for a very well known comp. car, which at that time (1980s) had a fully original lightweight body.

How would they do that then? Could the existing body be corrected? Would a whole new body have to be made? How much roughly would the cost be for Classiche or companies like Allegretti or Brandoli to make and install a complete new body for a car like this?

As TomGT has said, the mold exists.

    It would cost money.

But those who can afford these cars, can usually afford this type of restoration.
