fyi, here is the cost: Im sorry for the delay in responding, the factory actually just got back to me with the cost for Rosso Berlinetta. They consider that paint an extracampionario rather than out of range color so its the most expensive category .$26,655. I imagine you might want to reconsider but please contact me anytime and I can offer some close alternatives!!!
If that info is accurate, I think it's absolutely shameless considering a launch colour "extracampionario".
Its freakin' awesome.... and worth 18K. I will tell you, this is the perfect color for this car. You won't get it back in resale but while you own it, your eyes will tear up every time you look at it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And that is Rosso Berlinetta correct? Can you describe at all side by side how it compares to Rosso Corsa? Rick
Yes, berinetta. I checked the tag myself. Its a metallic red paint. The metal flake is really small so it just shimmers in sunlight without looking like a traditional metal flake or "candy" finish. I'm sure its a 3 step process which is why it's so expensive. The metal flake brings out the subtle curves and creases. I think Rosso Corsa tends to flatten shapes. Metallics bring out the subtle areas. It's a little darker than RC. But, it's really deep and rich looking. I like it much better than Fuocco. The interior of this car was Cuoio which is what I would have picked. Notice this car has no shields. It looks better IMO but I would believe few would order it that way.
I think this is the same (or an identical) car to what we saw at the rollout. Will +1 Bob, this paint on this car makes for an amazing combination. RossoB would look terrible on our 458 but is phenom on the F12 (and maybe the FF). It might be worth it, however criminally expensive it is. My wife did the FDE right before Montreal F1 and got to "road test" the F12 at Mont Tremblant on track for 2 days. Any/all doubts removed....order in!
Looks good but TDF looks just as good on a GT as this, and it doesn't cost a nickel extra. Saw this color on the promo car, I believe, and could not figure out, seeing it in the flesh, why it would incur an additional cost. Then again, if you've got the coin for a new F12, what's the big deal about pissing away an additional $20K or so? Many nice colors available thru Ferrari, some cost more than others, but their inherent value is the same. In the end, it's all personal choice.
I like TDF, too, but it's blue and thus not a substitute for red! I agree it will otherwise do everything else for an F12 that Rosso Berlinetta does.
I guess an additional 5% of the cost is pretty steep for the color you love... But if it is what you love, perhaps it is not the same as pissing it away. However, some people would say spending more than $60k on a car is pissing money away.
Rosso Berlinetta option price in Switzerland: 28K CHF (source official dealer). Gorgeous color though. The flat grey which was on display at the Geneva 2012 launch is 26K+VAT. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
