i have asked the owner. 1261GT is currently using engine and gearbox of the owners 250 GTE (number only by PM and confidential) till the original engine will be ready. so the tunnel was adapted to fit.
once engine 1261GT is fully rebuilt it will go into 1261GT and the GTE will be the next restoration project with all its original parts.

This is around $430,000. in US Dollars.

Isn't this a record price for a 250 PF Coupe??

As well, this car had a non-original engine.

    John,

I could not access the pics. Is the car the dark blue one on their web site with the silver rockers w/hood scoop with chrome molding?

The more I look at this 1251GT the more I like it. It just looks the part. I don't think Tom Meade could've done a better job.

The one think I might have done differently is originally designed tail lights, probably similar to those on the Series I Cab or something similar to a Facel Vega's. He flipped the standard PF coupe lights here, but they still look not bad at all.

note: apologies, but I cannot figure out why the interior shots are inverting. they appear correctly oriented on my computer, but the post preview shows them upside down, although the exteriors stay in correct orientation. put these up to add to the recent blue interior conversation. perhaps a moderator can straighten this out, or provide clarification to re-post? thanks.

    Gorgeous color combo on 1493.

I'm curious about something. The PF coupé (and the 250 GTE) were the cars that made me truly fall in love with vintage Ferrari's because they were the ones I first saw in person when I had the good fortune to visit Heritage Classics with my father and brother back in 2006. The salespeople were incredibly nice to us, and let my brother and I (we were 16 and 17 respectively) sit inside the cars and look around for as long as we wanted. My father, not really a car guy, was also very impressed by it all. I remember asking them the prices and I think the PF was at about 150,000 and the GTE 90,000 US Dollars. I remember even my father being surprised, though he was more interested in the 280 SL also in the showroom.

Anyway, Heritage fortunately keeps a few pictures of their old stock online and I have managed to find the cars that are responsible for my desire to own an Enzo era V12 Ferrari someday. I would love to know if anyone here owns these cars these days, and if so, to say that you are very lucky to do so, and if you ever want to sell them in about 20-30 years let me know.

I am thinking of replacing my tires on my PF Coupe--S/N 1099.
This is the early drum brake car.

Anyone have any suggestions---or tires they like or disliked over the years??

    Thanks,

    Ken Goldman

Ken, I recently put Pirelli Centurato 185VR15 CA-67 on my 250 GTE series 1 and loved them, excellent period look. I chose them as there was a 25 year old set of Pirelli's on my PF Coupe when I got it. Got them here [email protected].

Here's my opinion, the best looking tire on a 16-inch wheeled Ferrari would be Blockley, Coker (V-rated) or Michelin Pilote (if you can find them). The best quality tire would be Avon Turbosteel 185R16, but they look wrong on an Italian car. I recently got a set of Blockley tires for my PF coupe, they are a right mix of appearance, quality and value... also Julian Majzub is good man and deserves our business.

What does the correct thermostat for a series I PF coupe look like? Looking through my collection of engine photos I see a variety of thermostats. I purchased a brass one but the diameter of the inlet and outlet are larger that the pipes they connect too. Is this engine suppose to have a stepped radiator hoses? Do the original thermostats block off the bypass hose when they open? The one I have does not block off the bypass when it opens.

    Thanks Jim
