    Hi All

Can anyone help me source some period correct race wheels for my F40.

My car is chassis nos 85690 and was run for three seasons in the Italian GT Championships in the early 1990's. It was then converted back to standard road spec and is still that way now.
I am however in the process of converting it back to its 1993 race spec as that is clearly what makes this car 'different'. Also, with the new BPR 'revival' later this year at Paul Ricard in September it might be fun to run it there.

What I though would be easy though is turning out to be the hardest part (ha!). Wheels.

Michelloto / OZ no longer produce the 17" wheels that the car ran in period (see image attached).

OZ do have 18" wheels available that could then be painted white, but it is impossible to fit the same style front and rear without modifying the front clamshell - so one would end up with LM GTE style wheels at the rear and a similar, but different style at the front.(see images)

So, does anyone know where I can source some original wheels that may of been kept from back in the early 1990's or else other suggestions on who / how / where I can source wheels that will work??

Any ideas much appreciated and I'll keep you posted in progress.

    Best

    Chris

They look quite large and a bit awkward.

Can you post a full side view?

They are actual photos. GT/E front is wider than standard F40.

not liking those really, pretty plain and look odd on the F40 IMO

the SEK look pretty good, similar but not exactly like the Enkeis

Thanks for the various feedback and images to date..

There have been some good suggestions and ideas, but still no closer to finding the correct look OZ wheels from the period.

Given the relatively high number of F40's that raced in the various GT championships in the early 90's and knowing that as with most race cars there would of been two to four sets of wheels per car, in theory there MUST be some 40 odd sets of wheels floating around somewhere gathering dust in someones shed / workshop?

If anyone can put out feelers to unearth some I would be hugely grateful and will send of case of good red wine to who ever can help me find them:)

Front enkeis are similar to the Oz's. But rear ones are not even close. And they are size 18", Chris is looking for 17".

For your information OZ supplied enkeis wheels! The guy needed period wheels plus this type was on a normal F40 not the wide body one. So they go good for F40!

    Thank you for your information

Hello Orlando Vetrano ( La Scuderia Rossa )

Your emails do not seem to be getting through to you about the wheels.

We must sort this out soon.

I'd guess at contacting whoever ran each of the cars back then :), the wheels as you said are most likely tucked away in a garage somewhere
